Recently, I am translating the interviews sparingly for personal reasons.
Besides that sometimes they are not interesting enough, or we just flat out don't like it very much.
However this time, I felt an immediate urge to translate this interview after reading this comment in TL.
......except I don't want to watch a ZvZ match with two fags playing. Many thanks though!
I want to emphasize though that I am not trying to flame anybody or whatever, because I totally respect one person's opinion whether it pleases mine or not. In fact, although not as extremely as above, I dislike z vs z too.
I just felt nothing but love(yeah, come here silver you sexy babe -0-), for silver(and jju) after reading this interview. I think he(and jju) is one of the progamers very much under appreciated compared to his achievement in Proleague, and in other leagues.
Take heart, young one. (wtf, Farseer all of a sudden?)

심소명은 기도를 했다. 숙소에서 출발하기 전, 경기가 시작되기 전 떨지 않게 해달라고 하나님께 빌었다. 기도 덕분인지 경기가 생각대로 진행됐다. 1, 2세트를 모두 따낸 뒤 방심해서 그런지 쉽게 내줬다. 4세트에 들어가기 전 또 다시 기도했다. 생애 첫 결승 진출이 확정된 뒤 하느님에게 기댔다. 심소명의 결승 진출 원동력은 8할이 신앙 덕분이었다.
Shim Somyoung prayed. Inside the teamhouse before heading out, before beginning the match, he prayed to God that he be not nervous. The match played out as he as expected; whether it be because of the prayer. After his first and second set victory, he gave away the following set too easily. He prayed again before the fourth set. After winning his last set, confirming his advancement to the finals, he fell back on God. The 80% of the motive that moved him to get to the finals was his religion.
-결승에 진출한 소감은.
-Your comment about your advancement to the finals.
▶머리속이 순간 하얗게 변하는 듯 했다. 기도하고 싶은 마음 뿐이었다. 이루고 싶은 목표를 이뤄서 정말 좋았다. 하느님께 감사드린다.
▶It was as if my mind turned white in a split second. All I wanted to do was to pray. I was very glad that I have achieved what I wanted to achieve. I give my thanks to God.
-오늘은 히드라 왜 안뽑았나(웃음).
-Why did you not pump out hydralisks today? (smile)
▶(웃음 지으며)저그전에서는 히드라리스크를 쓰기 힘들다. 그래서 쓰지 않았다. 히드라리스크는 테란전과 프로토스전에서만 쓰겠다. 하하.
▶(Smiling) In vs zerg, using hydralisks is hard. I didn't use it because of that. I will only use hydralisks in vs Terran and Protoss. HaHa.
-경기 끝나고 기도하는 모습이 인상적이었다. 오늘 하루 몇 번이나 했나.
-Your prayer after that match was very impressive. How many times did you pray today.
▶출발할 때 한 번하고, 경기장 도착해서 한 번하고, 3세트 지고 나서 했고, 4세트 시작할 때 기도했고, 끝나고 나서 또 했다. 부모님이 목회를 하시다 보니 나를 위해 기도해주시는 분들이 많다. 나를 위해서 한 진심에서 우러나온 기도는 이번이 처음인 것 같다. 솔직히 예전에도 기도는 했는데 연습량이 많이 달렸다. 요즘엔 연습량이 받쳐주니까 기도해도 잘 먹히는 것 같다.
▶I did once before heading out, once after I have arrived to the stadium, again after losing the third match, and before starting the fourth match, and once more after the match. With my parents being pastors, there are many who pray for me. I think this is the first time that I have truly prayed for myself. In truth, though I did pray in past, my time spent in practice was insufficient. Recently, with my abundant practice, I think my prayers are more effective.
-연봉이 오른 뒤 책임감도 상당히 컸을 것 같다.
-After your increase in annual salary, the pressure of responsibility must have burdened you greatly.
▶지난 프로리그에서 MVP 받은 뒤 연봉이 대폭 올랐다. 총주장도 되고 나니까 부담감이 엄청나게 심해졌다. 그래도 스트레스를 받지 않기 위해 연습으로 해소했다. 성적이 부쩍 오른 뒤 부담도 덜었고, 책임만큼 해낸 것 같다. 솔직히 말하면 ‘먹튀’ 소리 듣기 싫었다(웃음).
▶After my mvp award in last Proleague, my annual salary increased much. Having appointed as the team captain, the pressure arose greatly. But, to fend against the stress I buried myself with practice. After boosting myself in various leagues, the pressure was relieved somewhat, and responsibilities were carried out. To tell you the truth, I did not want to hear the criticism 'Muktwi'(*1). (Smile)
-저그와 프로토스만 잡고 결승까지 왔다.
-You advanced to the finals only fighting against zerg and protoss.
▶내 상대는 마재윤 선수와 강 민 선수 가운데 결정된다. 그러니까 내가 우승할 수 있을 것 같다. 저그가 테란은 두려워하지만 저그전이나 토스전은 다른 사람들보다 잘하는 것 같다. 자신있다.
▶My opponents will either be Ma Jaeyoon(Savior) or Kang Min(Nal ra). In other words, I think I can win. Zerg fears Terran, but I think I am better than others when up against Zerg or Protoss
-야외 무대의 압박이 심할 것 같다.
-You must be feeling very nervous with the upcoming off-stadium match.
▶첫 야외 무대다. 그러나 내가 그 무대에 적응할 수 있을지는 모르겠다. 적응하지 못하지는 않을 것 같다. 마인드가 가를 것으로 보인다.
▶It is my first match played outside the stadium. I am not sure if I can adapt to it. I don't think I am incapable of adapting. I think my willpower will decide the outcome.
-이 경기를 위해서 얼마나 연습했나.
-How many games did you practice for this match.
▶150 경기 정도 소화한 것 같다. 경기 시간이 짧은 저그전이다 보니 경기 수가 많이 늘었다. 그래도 빌드 오더나 전략을 구상하기 위해 많은 시간을 투자했다.
▶I think I went through about 150games. With vs Zerg matches being particularly short, the number of practice games correspondently rose high. Still, I spent much time in devising up the build order and strategy.
-도와준 사람은 누구인가.
-Who aided you.
▶이번 MSL을 하는 동안 다른 팀과 연습하지 않았다. 프로토스전이나 저그전 모두 우리 팀에서 소화했다. 이 자리를 빌어 안석열과 김재춘에게 감사하다고 인사하고 싶다.
▶During this MSL I have not practiced with other team members. All my practice were against my teammates whether it be vs Zerg or Protoss. I want to thank Ahn Seokyeol and Kim Jaechun through this interview.
-지난 8강 최종전을 마친 뒤 강 민과 만난 것 같다.
-You met with Kang Min after the final match of quarterfinals.
▶강 민 선수와 경기한 날 나도 승리했다. 이번 시즌 내내 그랬다. 내가 2대0으로 이기면 민이형도 2대0으로 이기고, 형이 이기면 나도 이겼다. 그날 ‘내가 4강에서 변은종 선수를 이기면 민이형도 마재윤 선수를 이길 것 같다’라고 하나의 징크스를 만들었다.
▶On the day Kang Min played, I also won. That happened throughout this season. When I won 2:0 Min hyung(*2) won 2:0, whenever I won, he did too. On that day I came up with a jinx saying 'if I defeat Byun Eunjong(jju), Min hyung will also defeat Ma Jaeyoon".
-요즘 팀 분위기가 장난이 아니다. 시너지 효과라도 나는가.
-Your team's current streak are astonishing. Is there a synergy effect.
▶안기효와 이윤열, 나까지 모두 좋은 성적을 내고 있다. 프로리그가 안되려고 그러는 건지 잘 모르겠다(웃음). 내가 주장이 된 초기에 나만 MSL에서 약간 성적을 냈을 뿐 모두 패했다. 그래서 야릇한 기분에 빠졌던 것도 사실이다. 그렇지만 프로리그에서 삼성전자를 꺾은 뒤 팀 분위가 상당히 좋아졌다. 이사한 뒤에 적응 된 듯하다.
▶Ahn Kihyo(Rock), Lee Yoonyeoul(Nada) and I are all doing very well. I am wondering if all this will make us do poorly in Proleague. Immediately following my team captain appointment, everyone lost in every match save my mediocre performance in MSL. It is true I was feeling a bit hazy back then. After defeating Samsung Khan in Proleague, the team spirit arose high. I think we finally placed ourselves back fittingly, after moving to new place.
-강 민과 마재윤 누가 올라오는 것이 좋은가.
-Who do you wish to advance between Kang Min and Ma Jaeyoon.
▶정말 상관 없다. 그래도 민이형이 왔으면 좋겠다. 마재윤도 이길 자신 있다. 이번에 막아보겠다.
▶I really do not have any preference. But I wish for Min hyung. I am confident against Ma Jaeyoon too. This time, I will see if I can hold my ground
-이번 결승에 임하는 각오는.
-Your resolution on going into the finals.
▶결승에선 내가 보여줄 수 있는 것을 더 보여드리도록 노력하겠다. 죽어라 열심히 할 것이다
▶I will show everything I can, in the finals. I will push myself to the limit.

'Muktwi'(*1) - Korean slang used to describe progamers who earn high annual salary, then all of a sudden do very poorly or not as well as in the past in various leagues. (I will save myself from explaining the origin of this slang. It will be too frustrating for me because of my total disgust for this word. I once dreamt a 'face to face mortal combat death match' with a person who called Yellow by this word. I was beaten to death and cut julienne inside out in that dream, as all those typical 'I can't run', 'I can't fight', I can't fuck' dreams are.) =(
hyung(*2) - Korean word casually referring to an older brother by blood. It is also used to refer senior of close age, usually not more than 10 years, and almost never over 20. It represents a somewhat close relationship between the two. Of course in this interview, Silver and nar_la are not blood brothers, meaning the latter of this word's definition.
