I WANT YellOw to win, but the maps are so fucked for YellOw. Cultivation and then 815... T_T. Though, 815 has been proven to be more balanced than before, if played right. Hopefully YellOw will go for some early ling/lurk storm-zerg build, and kill GF before he masses up. As for BoxeR vs ShinHwa[Name], I'd say BoxeR has this. Oh man I'm dying for a Lim-Jin lock. | ||

I I dont want to see a Goodfriend vs. Boxer tvt bo5 eww. I think Goodfriend would win like 3-1 or 3-2 actually(and i never predict boxer losing).Goodfriend tvt is on par with Xellos literally. most maps this OSL have really bad stat for tvz EDIT But when I think of it, this OSL contains quite a few second-rate zvt gamers, like child, shinwa, Stay, Zergman(well he is not that bad). This combined with Gorush/July not in top shape really leaves only Yellow and Yellow[name] as good zvt-players... Compare these to Boxer, Sea, Casy. | ||

For those of you who didn't watch the game: Boxer completely fucked up when blocking the 9 pool, he blocked his scv with his marine so he couldn't get new scvs to it, and then his marine got trapped against the zerglings. Long story short, he lost maybe 4-5 marines and a bunch of scvs -- | ||

Anyway: Shinhwa attacked with lurker/ling and put a lurker on boxer's cliff to interrupt mining and hit the new comsat. he killed the front depot and the 2nd comsat and many defenders. He then attacked with 3 new lurkers through the front and boxer couldn't hold. He jumped them into the SCV line to finish it. boxer went vultures and lifted his buildings but it didn't work, he tried to counter-harrass and was blocked. boxer gg 1:1 | ||

This OSL is getting really disappointing... hopefully guys like Nal_rA, Yellow and Sea[shield] will go as far as possible and produce some great games, which have been seriously missing since the beginning of the Ro16 (two one-sided rapes wednesday, one today and Boxer screwing up stupidly vs Shinhwa). Must be the first OSL ever without neither Boxer, nor Nada, nor Xellos, nor Oov at such an early stage... too many Terrans are boring, but when the best of them are all absent, it quite sucks as well. | ||

Listen I've crunched the numbers and statistically speaking Shinhwa is the current best player ever in the history of Starcraft and the only thing that could possibly increase his already unfathomably high chances of winning this is if he was me. Other factors that could potentially lead to an upset include: - poor tournament format (it should be best of 9 for quarter finals) - OGN bias to Boxer - the jewish conspiracy - he is not on KTF however; - if he was on KTF and happened to lose it would be because the KTF coach isn't as smart as me and mishandled his training in some way that I clearly wouldn't have what did I fucking tell you guys | ||

Terran has a better chance to win playing a standard style on these TvZ imbalance-in-the-ass maps, but again that is not Boxer's typical style. Boxer cheese his way through the OSL and that has brought him many many many victories. In all 3 games, Boxer's strategies were all brillant which unfortunely makes future Zerg victory even more difficult. Today, luck did not favor Boxer. | ||

Today, luck did not favor Boxer. did you watch the games? its pretty obvious that the builds were pretty bad, or boxers use of them in how he reacted to what shinhwa was doing. either or. the second game boxer probably could have have stopped those early stream of lings but he made a mistake and moved his marines, letting some lings get through and kill one or two of them leaving him having defend with scvs, losing a couple in the process and losing even more mining time. it was at that point i thought the game was over. then he does his double fac thing and double comstat thing and i was like, "what the hell are you doing?". i have thought what the hell are you doing about boxer before, and it has usually worked out for the better, but in these games he just came across looking like a dumbass. problem with cheese is that if you perfectly succeeds you look brilliant and if it perfect fails you look like a dipshit. | ||

O M F G Boxer is still the greatest!!! It really is okay, and come to think of it, NOBODY should get 3rd OSL win, NOBODY... because all 2nd OSL winning champions are great, and equally great, why make one greater than the other? So let's all settle down, I don't think boxer repared well but it's not nice to call him arrogant. However, props to Shiwan and he played great. Let's just hope Yellow or Nal_rA takes it and make us feel good... | ||

So yes, I watched all 3 of Boxer vs Shinwa games. well i meant to imply that losing the marines were execution errors. i am not sure if boxer was going to build those factories regardless of what happened due to the lings doing that much damage. it was certaintly possible thats what he was going to do, considering he walled. but then again you kind of have to wall on that map. i think he should have been better prepared for what happened. his decisions didnt really work because he was making all of them on the spot pretty much. he knew he might need two scans to get all the lurkers, but the problem i have is the timing. boxer already lost a lot of units, and he wasted even more mining time lifting the cc and planting it. he might have been out 100-150 minerals, including the cost of the comstat. and the comstat before cost another 50. i dont know exactly what to do in the situation, so i am not saying i would have done a better job. maybe the entire problem was execution. i think if boxer just did a better job defending his ramp and was a little more careful in that regard, we wouldnt be having this conversation. at that point of the game, the smallest micro errors could cost the game, which it did. also the third game, i was questioning his decision to move out with his force only leaving a firebat without a medic behind to guard. i know some people mentioned that he did it before vs Shinhwa and shinhwa backed off. its obvious that shinhwa learned from his mistake. i dont mean to say that shinhwa played badly in this series, not at all. the first game couldnt be helped, it was terrible luck and a bad build vs. something he didnt know was coming. no zerg on earth could come back from that. the second game he did exactly what he had to do to win. in fact, i can think of many zergs that would have probably fucked it up. except for maybe julyzerg, most zergs would be scared to try to attack straight up with the zerglings into boxers setup. and most zergs wouldnt have kept up the pressure. boxer didnt lose in a vacuum, but i do believe he did have the advantage this series and he didnt play well under the pressure, which is really out of character for him. i think everyone was suprised by that most of all | ||

I guess lurkers are unique units. i think the zealot 4 in a shuttle thing is due to the fact that they are stronger units than say a marine or zergling, even though its the most basic attack unit of protoss. in general protoss is a "larger" race. i think marines, medics, and firebats get the most bang for your buck in terms of fire power for one shuttle/overloard/dropship. well im not really considering special units like reavers and high templars, because they could be more useless than a zealot or more powerful than 2 or more groups of marines and medics depending on how well they are used and how the enemy reacts to them | ||

Yellow vs anyone stopped interesting me after he let me down TWICE when I thought this was *it* for him, once in 2002 (in sky 2k2 and WCG - that could actually be counted as 2 separate occasions) and then in 2003 in Olympus. Ever since then, I just considered Yellow unworthy of my fan status because I knew that no matter how well he's doing in any given league, someone will unfailingly appear and kick his ass. This was my thinking during Trigem MSL and Ever OSL and it cleanly saved me from a huge letdown both times. And that's why I'm confident that despite the fact that Yellow needs only to defeat Shinhwa and Zergman/Casy to be in the final, he isn't going to win. If Nal_Rock or Iris is the last player standing between Yellow and his first OSL title, Yellow will lose. | ||

IIRC He is undefeated in all his OSL games so far. He beat Nal_ra 3-2 in ODT finals and Proleague. His TvT is awesome. Also the maps are heavily favor T in TvZ. Did people forget that he has JulyZerg to practice with? | ||

Well, if Nal_rA wins this OSL, he's now a candidate to win the golden mouse for the next OSL (he already won one OSL, Olympus I think). Sea is in third of my list for who "should" win this OSL. he's an excellent player, but of course the older bats are more favored, like yellow and rA especially Yell0w. I really hope YellOw finally wins an OSL this time around, not go 2nd/3rd like he did so many times before. | ||
