IF YOU WANT TO PLAY IN THIS EVENT, YOU MUST NOT POST HERE, posting in this thread will result in immediate disqualification from the tournament
Prize Pool: $100 Date & Time: Saturday, September 1st 1900CET (20CET Cast) Smurf Sponsor: Prowler Caster: Hacklebeast Server: iCCup (All Accounts to be created by Eywa-) Banner inspired by Eywa-, perfected by Shiroiusagi
What the Smurf is this?
It's Smurfin Brood War.
This is a tournament which will be entirely standard, except for one thing... No players may use an ID which they currently own, an entirely new set of in game identification names must be forged. These new names must be unlinked entirely from the original IDs owned by said player.
Players will not be allowed to disclose who they are, nor who they play for, nor any information of the sort. If a player is identified due to known naming (in the event where the player used a previous smurf) and/or discloses who he is to his opponent and/or anyone else, said player will be disqualified from the tournament and if he was the winner, he will not receive his prize. No player may announce himself until after the absolute last game is broadcast.
Backups are in no particular order. Do not be discouraged to show up as a backup, there are always players who don't show up Schtroumpfette coolman123 WithiNShaDowS (Not actual ID, profanities censored for Teamliquid) umnmsbp ChocolateBox Hasuameba. wjwggptsgo Vegans
Primary ID list of AKAs IP address Used ID for the event
For the sign ups, there will be a reservation list, and some players will be privately invited, however, even if you are not privately invited... You may still be on the reservation list and so, have a good possibility of being in the tournament.
- Rules -
Smurfing is required No exchanging of IDs No player posting in thread Everything which does not give away your ID is permitted (minus cheating)
Haha this sounds like great fun. Will the entire tournament be run on just that day? It'll be interesting trying to guess the players; there should be a prize for whomever guesses the most correct players.
Oh my god so many sick tournaments... I want to join all... so little time. :<
This sounds awesomeeeee.
PP will be a bitch to organize, if they're even going to be allowed - instant messaging - can't give ids, so people would have to create new ones.

Actually this will be easier for him to cast since he doesn't have to remember shit. xD
EDIT: There's a problem. If you play on iccup people will see your flag unless you use proxies to make the acc (which is also against iccup rules I think), or someone else made it for you (organizer?).
If you play on fish people can /finger you and see your isp and shit too, so some people would be easily discovered.

Everyone will be playing under canadian flag, because I'm making the accounts and everyone will be identified as race picker... So players can do as they wish.
Primary line up will be released on Friday at the latest, back up players will be added as the sign ups come in. Of course, the line ups won't really mean much to anyone but the players... (since you won't know who's who).
Player list is out! If you're a player who signed up, you'll be wanting to look at this (to know where you stand), but not post. LET THE SPECULATION BEGIN!

When I went to create an iCCup account, I found that "VGhost" was already taken.

He is being replaced by VoiceFromTheSink... It wouldn't be good to have a poll to see who replaces him simply because no one knows who the players are except for me :-/ (so you guys could elect a D+ player into a tournament with only A/B).
ImbatrOn1 = eonzerg talthulortamn = jumper, everyone knows he is good in D2, and his nick is runeword panjadrum = bakuryu VoiceFromTheSink = michael oo2asd = largo CanadianSayle = game
damn it. I knew that one was plumbum when I saw it. It was similar to a name he used in a defiled tour (or maybe it was the same one. I, much like plumbum, am incapable of keeping track of all plumbum's smurfs).

Hacklebeast... I'm afraid I have to DQ you..

Well, let's just say he found them out by thinking with his head... Plumbum should never use his head for thinking, ever..

All players will be sent the username and password to their primary, secondary and tertiary accounts. Please note that these will be sent on Saturday morning before the event, please collect them from the method you used to sign up.

i guessed one smurf but i didnt win anything except flame ;(
Sincerest appologies to all of the players for my innability to show up this morning to complete some tasks that should have been done... I wanted to make sure it was a last minute thing for obvious reasons...
I'm watching the VOD from September 1st on Hacklebeast's (well, the commentator obviously ) stream. For further games to be casted, I'd suggest to turn off the Live APM at least in this Smuf Tournament (in GC for example it's a cool feature to have). It just tells so much about the players and I guess many of them can be revealed just by looking at the APM. Just like "no, this can't be Bakuryu, this player has got way too many APM to be him" and "looking at the APM, it might be dOTY" (last sentence was my personal conclusion, which I was 100% about - and still am).
Of course the play style says much about each player, but APM is quite a big issue for the players to be revealed, in my opinion.

Good idea imo. Also it would be fun to try and guess their APM just by their micro/macro management
