Getting an evo when you had mirror builds is usually almost unheard of, and even if one player lost some drones, the usual response would be to try to luck out on scourge micro. The only way Zero could have killed great without hive is a ling all-in, since great had plenty of spores, and that's not so difficult to block. EDIT: the point I was trying to make is that great went spores purposely to make it a hive tech game. That's pretty definitely moving the matchup forward.
What. The moment great spored up, great needed to expand and he would've had a big enough advantage in muta numbers to be able to simply ignore the spores. In the meantime great is burning gas on hive tech...
