I want more pages of hype for this than there was for SKT1 v. Oz.

LOL. STX fans getting in on the action now are we? I don't think Jaedong, EffOrt, or even Hyuk would have a problem with (Z)RORO!

I'm rooting for CJ win, as my liquibet and Fantasy will be screwed up if SKT win, but if it comes as you say, better BoxeR > sAviOr.

This should be pretty close...the only match that's a foregone conclusion is Bisu vs Snow.

I hope someone streams KT vs Oz.

oh looooooooooooooool. Considering how Hyuk took down Jae "the master of zvz"dong in a straight up mutal micro battle, i dont see where this criticism is coming from.

jaedong made mistakes against hyuk, effort's beaten jaedong at the top of his game, hyuk has a BO win and a sketchy win.

BO win? Did you even watch the game?

This man is right. Jaedong and Hyuk were equal going into the final battle (if not adv Jaedong). Plus, Jaedong had drones and buildings under him which surely ate up some of the worm-glaive hits. I didn't look at upgrades, but JD got spanked in that battle i'm sorry to say.

He's referring to (Z)Hyuk beating (Z)Jaedong in the PL playoffs, not the last game. There's an "and" between "BO win" and "sketchy win". He's calling the last game a "sktechy win"

By the way, Hyuk is clearly a very good ZvZ player. But (Z)EffOrt might have the best ZvZ or anyone at this point. EffOrt will win.

Can i have an unbiased CJ fanboy(or the closest thing to it) give me a legitimate reason why the person who beat jaedong straight up with no BO advantage is a "huge underdog"? I mean in ZvZ you have about 1/3 of the games decided immediately by BO's and another 1/3 where a BO advantage basically gives you the game. I'm not arguing that Hyuk isnt an underdog, but considering its ZvZ i'd say if Hyuk and Effort played 100 games Hyuk could probably win about 40. I just dont understand why all the Cj fans are treating Hyuk as a random newb who is an auto-loss to Effort.

you said it yourself
winning 40% of the time is not very favorable

edit: I don't think Hyuk is a "huge" underdog, but he is definitely an underdog against Effort.

No point debating ZvZ.

The moral of this story is that ZvZ is a messed up matchup where little things mean victory or defeat (not that this was the case in JD v Hyuks last match).

On top of that, being good in ZvZ clearly doesn't translate to other MUs. Look at Hyuks vT. The matchup is an anomaly and should be seen as such.

if you really consider the MU. theres no such things at underdogs in ZvZ
shit happens. game ends.
Hyuk is the underdog because when its all over, he has a shitty record and effort has a good one.

No one's saying he isn't the underdog. That much is obvious. But there are people who are treating that match like Effort winning is a foregone conclusion when 1) Hyuk has been playing well lately and 2) ZvZ is quite possibly the most volatile matchup in the game.

EDIT:

On October 28 2009 09:10 fusionsdf wrote:
never said its impossible. Just some SKT fans have unrealistic expectations and are treating hyuk like he has equal/better chances than effort.

Which is, of course, ridiculous. Hyuk, win or lose, is the big underdog.

It seems that most likely, both sides are actually in agreement, but are arguing at a position that neither side holds.

It is a win win situation, isn't it? You don't lose any points for a player losing a match.

Unless you have one of them in your anti?

Hyuk is the underdog because when its all over, he has a shitty record and effort has a good one.

13-2 in his last 15 ZvZs is a shitty record? Not to mention 26-6 in his last 32. Although I'll concede that he is the underdog.
Just for comparisons sake, (Z)EffOrt is 8-7 in his last 15 ZvZs. where is this EvZ you speak of?
Before CJ fans kill me, that's a joke -.- I realize Effort played better people than Hyuk, just saying ZvZ is toss up.
In all seriousness though Effort has a bad habit of 12 hatching against 9-pool speed cough -(Z)Calm- cough. Hoping for a BO neutral game and a good one regardless of who wins.
Wow, i just realized most of this thread is attacking or defending Hyuk XD. who would've thought that 4 months ago.
