Its not so much bw players, as it is people on the internet. For some reason people feel like acting like a selfish entitled douche is acceptable behaviour when you are anonymous.

i would say that 50% percent of starcraft community is childish, bm and unreasonable ...and another 50% is composed of gm peaple..who just care about the game..

i admit I was disgruntled about not seeing the ICCUP server up but really, who cares? I can wait and I will wait for it to come up because I know it will improve drastically. But if it doesn't, so? I'm a child (literally) but sometimes I can act more sensibly than a lot of people on the internet

Attention sc2gg, iccup, gosugamers......when you do a countdown (sc2gg countdown, new icc, carrier) you are going ALL IN. That means, if you fuck it up you fail and deserve the wraith you receive. It's just part of the game - getting people hyped up for a week TSL style and then flopping is unacceptable. I can appreciate that its hard and that sometimes not everything goes to plan but if you can't handle the heat of your own week long count down and then deliver.....very very disappointing.

balta you are imba, as one of our ex admins u have a lot more knowlegde than everyone else in here even if u were admin for only (1 year i think, correct me if im wrong). the point is not that only bw community is retarded, im sure other coms are on the same road. im am besides chelo and avatar the oldest admin on iccup and in the past 2 1/2 years i went through almost every position and i know what im talking about. during that time i worked with such amazing personalities who made this all possible, but sadly there are only some from the very old times less. i guess i can count them on one single hand. the point is not that they arent motivated to work anymore, but mostly because they are disappointed by the reactions concerning their work. i could post a hall of fame right now, there are a butch of ppl in my head, but its not worth it because the most kiddies event wont remember them because they never cared about whats behind and instead of that looked at theirselves.

honestly, iccup could've just saved a ton of grief and anger if they just put "this is what happened, we are having sudden problems with cables that is out of our control, sorry for the inconvenience." instead of putting up jokes and coming into this thread to argue. would've been 100x better way to handle it. this is a time when you need to tell all your admins what the strategy is for approaching such a situation, instead of everyone just doing their own thing.
1. people who are criticizing them need to chill the fuck out, a week or two delay is not the end of the world. problems happen.
2. people who are yelling "omg how can u criticize icc, u r so selfish it is free" are missing the point. just because something is free or a service does not mean it is immune to criticism. you can still have standards of professionalism and conduct for staff / service that is 100% free. volunteer work is not a get out of jail free card, it doesn't wash away all responsibility. people should still be expected to act reasonably and keep their promises.
that said, those complaining are coming down awfully hard on icc, we should just really be patient.
