But when you appreciate the stakes and mind games at play, it was extremely enjoyable to watch. Gameplay isn't everything…not every "recommended game" has to be an epic macro fest. There are other reasons to watch BW.

Exactly, just because the games themselves weren't long and drawn out doesn't mean they weren't exciting. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the series.

So you are basically saying they could've pretty much done anything (Maybe gging after canceling CC?) and it would have been still an amazing series just because it was supposed to be an intense fight between two giants.

The truth lies between the two viewpoints. First, there is no doubt that the stakes and the hype have something to do with the quality of the games. Which is why we seldom revere a game that took place in the qualifying rounds of a tournament on the same level as a game with equal excitement and skill in the finals. On the other hand the quality of the games certainly is a more important element. That said, there were several games during Idra v. Nony that were exciting games. A game doesn't have to go 50 minutes to be exciting if a player shows great skill or an interesting strategy while winning. A few of the games were good even though they only went to the mid game. The game where Idra gg'd after canceling his command center sucked ass and we should recognize that. I would recommend 2-3 of the games in the series.
