The match-up is a ZvZ. It doesn’t get much simpler than that. Killer, had once been well known for his ZvZ. On the other hand, by.Hero 3-0’s his round of 16 group that consisted of 2 other zergs, Killer and Larva. His record against zerg, however strong, would remain meaningless as Killer went for textbook strategies in all four games as he simply outplayed his opponent. GG.
Semifinals Day 2:

Ample and Modesty went into the semifinals with a 1-1 record from their meeting in the ro16. It would give viewers the sense it could be another close matchup. All this became false as Modesty dominated all 3 games, handing Ample a shutout. Modesty has become a thing of beauty. It’s almost as if he’s solved the ZvT. As a proleague monster and now a 3-0 record against Ample in the semifinals, it is clear Brood War has now entered what I call, “the Modest Era.”

Ample comes into this match with a tough road. He met Killer in his round of 32 group and lost. Then, in the ro16, Ample was in a group with two other very strong terrans(Hiya/sSak) and Modesty. Ample showed that he was able to defeat one of the best ZvT-ers in Modesty in the ro16, but then showed huge amounts of weakness as he fell apart in the semifinals ZvT match up. Ample goes into this series with a 56% winrate against Zerg in 66 games played since mid 2011.
by.hero, known for his outrageously high apm has been able to use that to his advantage in the protoss match up. Not only is PvT his best matchup, but by.hero had 3 protoss opponents in his ro32 group and zergs/protoss in his seconds group. This means that by.hero is completely untested in his ZvT as of late. Going into this matchup by.hero has a 46% winrate against Terran since 2012 in over 100 matches played.
by.hero is 4-0 in games played against Ample. Ample hasn’t place silver or higher since he earned second in the SSL4. by.hero is the kong winner of the more recent SSL9. The stats favor by.hero and so do I.
