Alright, to my knowledge, most of this site in some way keeps up with the progaming scene. We all have our favorite progamers for some reason or another. So this is the thread where you get to state your case on why your favorite progamer is your... favorite.
My favorite? Nal_rA, this is the guy that introduced me to progaming. He is one of the main reasons I so deeply enjoy playing protoss and whole heartedly stick to them. Right now, imo, he is easily the best protoss in the world. His understanding of the game and especially protoss is just about unmatched. I love his unique style, (specifically in pvz) and his cheeses. He is one of the most creative players in the business and he is a joy to watch. Sure, this little speech doesn't do him justice but it doesn't matter, nothing anyone can type up will do him justice. Kang Min fighting!!
So, who's your favorite?

Xellos and the rest of the CJ team, including their coach. When I did my documentary on him he was so obliging, acceding to every request we made and not charging us anything. if not for that I wouldn't have kept my job. He even gave me his own G.O. team jacket as a souvenir, and teamed up with fOru to buy me a Swatch watch as a present even though they didn't have a sponsor and didn't know where their next meal was coming from. In the ranking of nice guys, he must be even higher up than his ranking in the world of e-sports.

Park Ji-Ho has been my idol, my inspiration and my guidance since i first got seriously into the game (2004). I watched every single replay aviable of his (even the pre 1.11 ones) and learnt from him. PvT rapidly became my best machup due to this. Many times I've thought about switching to another race, but PuSan continually proves himself to me as a 1st rate progamer and keeps me going. Whether its his recent games against Magma or Light or his oldschool series vs Midas, his games are a work of art. Most recently, his play has inspired me to be creative. Since The first round of Shinhan 2005 Pusan hasnt used the same pvt build twice to my knowledge. Some of his most notable games include his rape of boxer and oov on Neo-Forte, and his epic clash against boxer on 815 (game 1), his game vs Casy on Ride of Valkyries, and his 3-0 of casy in the 3/4 playoffs. His 2-1 defeat of midas- 11-1 tvp at the time. His recent game against canata proves that he still is a very very skilled gamer. Spirit Toss ftw!

Reach. No explaination needed. Mantoss is just mantoss.

A couple years back I was a random player; well, I think I just picked random matchups out of the hat depending on whatever tickled my fancy at the moment. I had also just switched over to Lost Temple-only from BGH with roughly 70~80 apm and I was frequently playing 1v1's in #motel on East server.
But anyways, one night a guy showed me a replay of SlayerS_`BoxeR`.... it made me want to change to terran on the spot. The funny part was that the replay was corrupt too lol... but I still saw this one move that made me pick terran from that point on.
The replay was BoxeR vs Britney Spears on Lost Temple. Britney 9 pooled and BoxeR countered it with a makeshift wall. (Flying barracks over 2 scvs and 1 marine) I had never encountered such creativity in Starcraft like this before. It was genius; such a brilliant move.
I harassed the guy that showed me the replay to show all of SlayerS_`BoxeR`'s replays that night. I think I saw all of his released replays in that single night. O_O

Yellow, cause i started following progaming back during coca cola osl and at that time he was the impressive newcomer not afraid of Boxer, pushing him to game 5. His rivalry with Boxer provides games we all remember, they are probably the most consistent old school players (qualified for more than 12 osl each, something like that). And he's always smiling, even when he loses (which happens to often, but in France we like losers!).
Damn, i can still remember old days on bw.com when Mensrea was doing live reports... Yellow represents that time for me, i'm not really impressed by his play anymore, but i always like to hear about him winning and i always vote for him.

I have three favorites, one for each race.
My first "idol" was my Protoss idol since I started with that race. None other than IntoTheRain. I really liked his style with such outstanding templar tech use (particularly HTs) and on top of that he had such a cool sounding name. It just rolls off your tongue.
My second "idol" was the Terran legend NaDa. I don't remember when I became enamered with him, but I watching him play...just wow. The way he would control a game with Boxer-like micro and NTT-like macro was just unheard of and unimaginable. Watching how perfect he would play was just scary.
My third and final "idol" is the Zerg monster Savior. He has that same flare as the younger NaDa did, with beautiful micro and yet he is known as a macro gamer, with a sense of timing so good that he can do things I could only dream about (the way he shat all over Terato in the MSL and the way he tore NaDa a new one at WEF).

Seconded. As a Protoss player I also idolize Ra and Kingdom...
...at times it's like being a Mets fan T_T
As for non-toss users, of course boxer, but also NaDa and YellOw

Park Dae Man aka Daezang[gnh]. Obviously don't know these guys so I go by how they play and their style. Very good agressive macro style. My main connection to this guy is that his replays basically taught me pvp.
Daezang is just starting to come into the spotlight, with this MSL. He got a really poor draw, but was able to beat Chojja so far. He has shown himself to be a well rounded gamer, beating jju, chojja, nada, boxer, rock, etc.
Runner ups. Bisu[shield]. I've liked reach as well, more or less indiffrent to kingdom as not many reps. For whatever reason ive been more or less indiffrent to Ra, ok bash me now.

Casy - You heard me say it before so I won't again. Same with Boxer, etc. But here are 2 progamers I think are under-fanned and one of my favorites.
But now, I think Xellos and Kingdom need some light.
Xellos because HE IS CJ. HE IS G.O. 1/3rd of his tournament winnings were used to help his team. They didn't have a sponsor and their team was medium-strong at best. Yet, with Xellos as their ace, his awesome early-mid 2000's hot streak, and his steady perfection.. he helped not only himself but over a handful of progamers eat and sleep by paying a lot of his own winnings. Midas left (I think it was him...), Ra left, GoRush left..... Xellos stayed. Xellos is the pillar upon which CJ now stands. He is what Boxer is to SKT1. And if you don't like Xellos or his play didn't get you excited if you were around in the 2002-era... you are an empty empty BW player. Before Oov, Xellos, Nada, and Boxer were kings. And since he is back, I can't even express how disgustingly happy I am to joke about how fuckin cold, stoic, machine-like Xellos is, how he NEVER FUCKIN smiles, and yet deep inside, he is probably as fuzzy and warm as Jesus. The dude coulda hit big transferring to strong teams of the time like KTF or Hanbit ( they were still strong then) but to have that kind of perseverence.. Plus he gave storyteller a fuckin watch.. A+++++ And he's hot. YOU KNOW he's hot. There is a girl at my school who looks like Xellos that I wanna mack on cuz shes cute too.
Kingdom - Old school extraordinaire and came back from WAY back and showed us Toss power again and again. GoRush and Kingdom will ALWAYS have a special place in my hearts because they are in a handful of gamers that have lasted from Boxer's Era. Garim left us, Doggi died off, Samjjang couldn't win anymore, IntotheRain commentates, but Kingdom... he still plays... and plays like a MAN! You guys say Reach is mantoss because he plays manly.. puhleez. Reach doesn't get in your face and proxy your ass, pylon your probes, gas rush your gas, zealot your ass, and probe harass to kill you in 5 minutes. Nowadays he builds flowerfields and air-pirates then gets raped against snakes that spit green glop at you.. Smooth mantoss. What Garim did for the hardcore zealot, Kingdom brought back and made even better. While Reach is nowadays playing like a hybrid of Ra and loser, Kingdom is still hitting top 4's, putting up fights against ALL of them. Ra has enough fans, he's the Dreamer, the romantic of Protoss. Reach is the "man" toss, the brute strenght and power, but in the end, Devils always crap on man, and Kingdom is that much better. Not only does he play aggresive and in your face, he is FUCKn EVIL. Plus.. how can you not love a winning pro-gamer who pulls off a Kingdumb... And he is SKT1's only winning protoss... Who do you think made Rainbow's Reavers so hot? Yeah baby... Left Hand for Empire, Right Hand for Rule Too many memorable moments from Kingdom to dislike him. <3 Always.. in my <3
EDIT - And Kingdom's specialty unit is the coolest of them all - The Probe

I have three idols for each race even though I like pretty much all the top progamers except GF, Mumyung, Rainbow, JJu, ZergMan, and Doggi.
Basically players with great execution are fun to watch and I also consider myself being more micro/macro oriented than strategy oriented. It's art watching perfect micro and macro at the same time. These players are weaker strategywise, but stand out and make up for it with pure skills in the two fundamental traits this game has.
For Protoss its Park Jung Suk aka [Oops]Reach, because of his inhuman micro/macro. His use of templars in shuttles are absolutely stunning in PvT. He's the only Protoss to have 3-0ed Oov, and the only player he has a serious jinx against is Nada. Mostly got credit for his macro before, but he is responsible for the noisiest crowd ever when he maelstromed 30-40 devourers against Chojja in MSL.
For Terran its Lee Yun Yeol aka [ReD]NaDa, also because of his extreme micro/macro. His SKTerran is matched by none, and he's the most accomplished gamer in history. Also his matchups are very even, and he pulls of pimp moves all the time. For example his 5 dropship 5 different places against Jy on Luna, and also his excellent vulture micro against Gorush in MSL.
For Zerg its Park Sung Jun aka JulyZerg, yet again because of devastating micro/macro. He's the pioneer of Zerg, starting the golden age of Zerg when he became the first Zerg to ever win one of the major korean leagues. His mutamicro is ridiculous, and he has stopped a large number of crazy bunker rushes with worshipworthy dronemicro. The one against Nada in Snickers comes to mind, but also the one against Boxer in his highlight video. I've never been as happy for a player winning an OSL final as I were watching the 5th game against GF in EVER2 OSL. Not only because I absolutely didnt want GF winning, but the way he UNDRESSED GF with his mutas. Im not sure ANY other Zerg player would have won in a situation like that.
Other players I like are Boxer for having the best micro ever, Oov for having the best macro ever, Anytime for his ballsy strats, rA for his fantastic Sair/Reaver, and Sync for his sparky sunkenmelting.
