It's why the non-Korean sponsors have moved their focus to other, non-SC1 games (such as the Sony and Stride Gum tie-ins with MLG, or Dr. Pepper). It's been a long time since Coca-Cola or Gillette sponsored the OSL, or Pringles, Reebok, or Pepsi sponsored the MSL. BW's fate, for better or for worse, is tied to Korea. Also, KeSPA's past bully tactics with outsiders make it unlikely that people are interested in bailing them out. I wonder if KeSPA knew what what happen in the long run with GOM's financial backing and the current state of Brood War if they would have been more likely to support GOM's SC1 efforts. I have a feeling they probably would have worked with GOM if they had to do it all over again, because GOM was making an effort to bring in international fans and sponsors that they lost access to when they fought against GOM. | ||
