Right now it's unlikely, just because technique evolves so quickly, that the video game market is incredibly short term. I mean, we consider Starcraft being incredibly old, while it has been there for only 12 or 13 years. Chess has been there for thousand of years, even a minor game like monopoly is 100 years old. My bet is that in a couple of decades both computer industry and video games will slow down their pace and we will start to have really good games that stop being outdated because it looks old after a couple of years. But that's just a guess. Till then, I'm afraid, esport will suck compared to circuits such as chess or regular sports. | ||
