Hello Team Liquid! We all know that brood war is the best game created for mankind, unfortunately i feel as if the brood war community is slowly dying and dying so i was hoping to create, not really a clan but more of an active community that will on a constant basis contact each other and play with each other. I mean in the future I'm hoping to create a team that will partake in clan wars, but this "clan" will be in constant communication mainly through skype and through the channels in brood war, and just play with each other, talk about how they could improve each other etc etc. I'll create a site later when I have learned more about web designs and maintaining the site so yeah. If you're interested, please tell me. And if we get enough people than this could be a step towards a more concrete community. Thanks everybody!
Our Website! http://starcraftgenerations.webs.com/ Thanks to duncan.mc <3
We have a site set up for our clan sGs! just visit ICCUP Here: http://www.iccup.com/starcraft/teams/27072.html and sign up!
We will have 4 times per week designated for people to get on and play and practice as a clan. This is a great way for some relaxed, informal training with some good players showing up to offer advice. These days are:
SUN - 9:00 PM EDT TUES - 7:00 PM EDT THUR - 9:00 PM CET SAT - 9:00 PM EDT
These will be consistent week to week.
In addition to this we will have once or twice a week some sort of scheduled event such as replay study, in house tourneys, in depth look at a match-up or situation, etc. The first of these is this Saturday at 9:00 PM EDT/7:00 PM MDT. This is our first sGs meet-up so if your interested in being active with us please show up or at the very least PM me and let me know you are interested.

no it's not, iccup has more and more players every day, but good initiative.

lol and the best part is he said Brood War community... the Korean BW amateur scene still has thousands of active accounts ROFL.

What I like the most about BW is when you can play with friendly people that likes to improve. I'm definitely in if you happen to do this, I would like to improve but it's hard for me to find interest when I have no friends who play BW
cheers
|
Sounds cool. I might participate.
|
This sounds like a great idea, I'd be intrested
|
sounds cool. i'm in if it happens.

call it TLF - Team Liquid Fanboys. YEeeeaAahhH. I may join, just for the fun of it.
|
Dude , I'm in if I remember to revisit this thread in te morning ^^ I used to play UDP games with my friends alot a while back but after sc2 we just stopped :/
|
Good initiative! this is what the foreign BW scene needs to stay alive and grow. I would like to join
|
I try to create a good mannered and active community with my clan as well! on east op gGeeClan on iccup op gGee are the channels come check us out !
|
|
Im totally down for joining! :D prolly be a nice break from sc2 and laddering.
|
Lol , well, if I ever leave this clan i'll be sure to look you up, not saying that I will leave though for you <3.
|
BW scene dying? Even though all my friends are like in gold league in SC2 (which isn't a lot) and that I am better than 99% of them, they all say that taking ONE game off from me feels 10 times better than beating anyone on SC2 ladder and that they have more fun playing SC1 because its has more originality. And OF COURSE, I'll join this group! Gosh, I NEED to communicate with people that watches SC1 regularly!

omg do you sometime get this feeling that you want to express the genius behind the players when showing replays/vod to friends but you just KNOW that they would be too confused if you try explaining it to them?
|
Glad that there's such a positive response, hopefully we'll get a little more people and this can really get started! Also i was thinking about the name as sGs for starcraft broodwar generations but you know the name doesn't really matter as long as we stay active! Also i would like to learn the servers that you guys play on, Thanks!
|
Im super keen. Keep us updated ^^
|
This sounds lovely and all and I would love to join in on this but really you should have announced this more along the lines of when your were nearing completion and or putting it in action imo. I just seen to many people claim they are going to do one thing then fail to do it after saying they will (essentially im a dirty pessimist)
|
haha well Mr.Panda i know what you mean, and i like pessimists like you, keeps me, an optimist, challenged! This will start as soon as a limited amount of people is reached (was thinking around 20 or so) and once we've distributed each others information it will start. And since skype is so easy to use it'll be easy to say what's going to happen, or want to have a little game? things like that!
|
Your name doesn't leave much to the imagination Mr. Panda D:
I don't use skype, but I will participate. Brood War won't die.

For everybody who does not use a skype account i highly encourage you to do so! It is easy to install, very trustworthy, can easily stay connected!

I'm playing on a few different servers, but I think we should do Iccup. It's been the center of foreign BW for a while and everyone knows how to get on it and use it. Also, isn't there a TL ventrillo server we're allowed to use for this kind of thing?
|
Lol, I know what you all mean, at my school I got a few people into PL and SC, most of them don't follow it actively anymore ever since SC2 came out, people left iCCup, they went to do something different. They still watch with me at school but it's like......... It's hard to get newcomers, and alot of them watch this and say SC2 is better and I start this huge rage war which in the end I win because i'm just that much of a BW nerd :D.
|
Sounds great! It gets kinda lonely playing with randoms on iccup, I got this thread bookmarked.

You'll find the majority of foreigners ladder on iccup except for some of the super duper gosu's or suicidal people who try fish/brain lol
|
yeah true iccup is a really good server but i feel like its just being so competitive you know? i want a kind of a laid back community that will get competitive whenever we want to. I want this community to be like a teaching environment that will continue to build off one another, and so there are some students that takes longer to grow stronger and that competitive might make the player lose ambition.
|

iccup isn't overly competative. people host a few UMS on it. and the op teamliquid channel is pretty busy these days. I was in there yesterday and there was mass Race wars going on. The latency for most people is good and iccup is reliable. also the AH launcher and admins who'll ban hackers and correct discers makes it a good place to play. much better than trying to set something up on west, at least for the english speaking community at this point.
|
True but the channel was only busy because it was like an event going on for it. If that event wasnt there than most likely barely no one would be on it. And true iccup doesn't have to be competitive but thats just the type of atmosphere i get from it. Although i see why it would be easier to set it up on iccup rather than west or east hmm. I shall ponder about this.
|
I've been playing a lot lately (only d+ :p) and i'd totally be down. I love playing people that I can talk to after the game.
TL is on teamspeak now (not vent), but I'd much rather have a vent channel we can hang out in, getting people on skype would be so tough xp Also, i think we should definitely play on iccup. If it's mostly going to be people within the community playing each other, then the competitive feel of iccup shouldn't matter. Lag won't be an issue as well.

what is going on with the ICCup rankings anyway? i hadn't been on ICC for almost a year, but last time I looked it was like 300 koreans at the top of the 1v1 ranking and now... white kids in the top 20.
but i keep hearing bw is going fine so where are all of the koreans gone? i can't imagine why they would all migrate over to brain or fish full time over the past 7-8 months

Brainclan/Fish. There's about 200,000+ people on each one.

Such an initiave has already been started to some degree in the form of Team Liquid Laymen squad. Basically a place for anyone that isn't uber gosu to be on same team, train, get better, discuss SC and so forth.

Have you ever tried?
I have now gotten two of my RL friends into SC. Not playing SC. Not playing/watching SC2. Watching BW.
If you can't find a single person that you think you could get into it... perhaps you just don't hang out with the right people

i could join but i never played a single iccup games since im lazy as hell and i like to play vs comps..sad me

not overly competitive with focus on teaching, training and improving? I'm so totally in! Seriously I've tried to find something like this for a while now (ICCup Training Program is.. well... let's say not active during the times I can play) and would like to contribute. Perhaps we can somehow combine the efforts with the Team Liquid Laymen squad L_Master mentioned. The more the merrier, right?

Because everyone plays the same, tired old map pool probably (desti, fs, pyth); something really needs to be done to actually make there be an incentive to ladder on new proleague maps, maybe offer 3x points on them?

If you want to have fun, you can always play Island maps or even UMS maps (I spent 3 years of my life playing nothing but UMSs)
Well, one thing though: The newest version of Skype lags a lot - it consumes a huge amount of RAM by just being idle, and then when I receive a call, I can talk but the program completely locks up. Now I'm using Skype v.4.0, which is better, but still not ideal. Does anyone know if there's a better old version or a different client?

I have no idea about the foreigners. I know the Koreans moved from iCCup because they sought out greater challenge. If the best players leave, everyone else who is interested in becoming really good goes with them. So when progamers stopped on iCCup and went back to Brain, all their followers (semi-pros mostly) went with them. It has nothing to do with the map pool. Brain they actually play MORE Fighting Spirit, Python, Destination than on iCCup.

To keep the team active, I suggest you kick all the inactive players after some time.
Of course, they're more than welcome to rejoin anytime, but I think the atmosphere of the team is directly related to the number of active people in it. Once things become stale, people tend to lose interest.
Anyways, great initiative!

Okay guys! Ive been pondering for a couple of days on how to start with a bang! So this saturday there is going to be a tournament! It will be from 2 pm to whenever so GET ON! haha And i also thought of a small schedule: Monday:Replay talk day- this day we can talk about osl, msl etc etc, or other people's games Tuesday-friday: Training day- this can be either a 1 on 1 or 2 on 1 etc etc. just some type of training and we can improve each other's ability Saturday: Tournament day! sunday: I'm kind of christian so this will be a relaxation day and do whatever we want Is that okay with all of you guys?
|
Wow nice I will sure join Iccup: npnl.Tester96(D+ low C-) Skype: npnl.Tester96

Nice, I like the tournament idea, it's a good way to see if you've improved.
edit: Hmmm what is the iCCup channel btw? Thanks
|
|
I wanna know when your site goes online. ^^
|
HaTu, iCCup is down for server maintenance for ~2-3 days, so we'd have to use some other server
Options are Battle.net, Garena or Hamachi
Brain and Fish servers I wouldn't recommend due to the language barrier, and I think in either of those servers you need to just chill in order to enter a game [well, I'm just guessing - I've never even tried to go into those two servers]
|
Yeah i realized, so i was thinking about since not all of us can get on WEST or EAST etc etc we'd wait around a week or so until ICCUP is back online. Haha never heard of Garena or Hamachi before... man do i need to learn a lot more. And naruto creating a site and maintaining it is hard work so i was hoping around July or August when I'm in korea i could at least start to work on it. Its going to be a long time before it goes up haha
|
I know about iCCup, my question was what will be the chat channel we will use
|
ahh well what would you guys want the group to be called?
|
I was under the assumption that we would just be in the op Team Liquid channel. I'm not good at thinking of names but I am okay with just about anything.
|
Both Garena and Hamachi make VPNs (virtual private networks), so you play as if you were in a LAN (using Local Area Network (UDP)). I'll describe them more and tell the disadvantages of each:
Hamachi allows you to create channels with passwords (that is, they're not public). Bad things about Hamachi are:
- There is a limit of number of people in a same channel. I don't remember what it is though. - It was quite common for someone to have a yellow status with one-another, which means the two cannot "see" each other - it's a networking problem I've never found a solution for, even with port forwarding. Sometimes two people can see each other's games. Sometimes not. - After some version (don't remember, it was years ago), it stopped working for Starcraft. I have no idea if it's been fixed.
As for Garena, you play in provided public channels (although some are empty), and there're buddy list and clan support. You configure Garena with the path of BW and it launches it for you. Bad things about Garena are:
- Garena starts BW for you. This means you cannot use any type of launcher (iCCup's, AdvLoader, MiniLauncher, etc.). However, you can use some plugins by using ChaosLauncher and make it attach on the running BW (which has been opened by Garena). Windowed-mode, APMAlert and ObsMode do not work. Chaosplugin (for auto-replay) and RepFix do. I haven't tested any other plugin. - Sometimes a login server is off (There are 4 login servers, although they're all inter-connected) and you have to try one that works. It's not user-friendly. - When there're server problems (happens about once a month), your buddy list disappears and it reappears later. However, there's a chance you really lose your entire buddy list - Sometimes two people from different countries cannot join a same public room.
Certainly both give headaches, although Garena gives less headache (it's either a server problem or not, but you know what's wrong. Hamachi however gives no solutions to networking errors)
Edit: By the way, Garena's old name is GGClient

Well, the point of the clan was just to have an active group of players that could practice and help each other out. Being on a team for ICCup is nice because its easy to see who is online and what they are up to.
Not much more to it than that but the name is fitting (in my opinion) and seems like a solid starting point to get organized and have some structure to the whole thing. Not to mention if we had enough interest it would be pretty damn fun to play clan wars as an unoffcial team liquid group.

There is a ForceHamachi plugin in Chaoslauncher for playing BW through hamachi however the yellow status problem is really annoying

The only terran matchup I can play really well is TvP, since my former race was toss and I know how terran can fuck toss pretty bad =P
I'd say I play TvP at a solid C or C+ level, TvZ and TvT at D level lol >_<
so if you need any TvP only help then yah I might be able to help

Sure I guess if you think I only played PvZ, and not to mention like halfway through I switched to fast exp on most maps.... I'm not gonna deny I liked to 2 gate tho hehe, most zergs couldnt compete with their zergling micro vs my zealot micro
My PvP has always been my best matchup, so I def didn't 2 gate there, same with PvT ...
thanks for the random flame though its appreciated =(

I lack a lot in TvP, I would really like you to help me a bit haha

I was planning on making our own channel but is a bot necessary to maintain the channel?

Well for now I'm in the TL channel, been getting my butt handed to me so far. :| 4 games of PvT and I've lost all of them. I need to learn a build order and start practicing it. :|
|
Sounds fun to me, I'm getting back into BW. To help out with awareness, maybe I'll go ahead and create a screen name with the sGs tag. If the name doesn't take off, no biggie I can always change back. Good luck getting it started! I'll help if I can.

Great to know duncan! if i can just get your skype if you have one that would be fantastic! and Satisfaktion! we were having a discussion on tvp earlier you should have been there! again Skype makes everything so easy!

Add me any time. Just let me know who you are and don't say "Hey, I was just looking up profiles in my area and you seemed cool to talk to".
I'm horribly out of shape now but I was a D+/C- Protoss before SC2 came out.

Ain't we just staying in the op teamliquid channel, since we all know it? Or do you somekind of merge :D

Hey i like this idea, here is my info: Name:Sebastian Skype account:cheva998 ICCUP ID: sebas
I already add HaTu in the skype, so we will be meting there. And I send an aplication for the clan Teamliquid Layman Squad, I hope we can merge this two iniciatives. Cheers

Yay! ICCup is back up. Unfortunately atm I have absolutely no time available to play. But I'm still willing to participate and will be active soon. Unfortunately I also live in Europe under CET (which has a whooping 9 hours time difference to PST)...

Dunno how often I'll be on, but what the heck. I'll sign up. It's a good initiative. The only thing is I'd much rather use TeamSpeak or some such rather than skype because it takes up less processing power. (My laptop sucks/ overheats.)
On iCCup, I'm Passafist. D-
But if it has to be skype... My skype name is: passafist.falling

We do pretty much all of our chatting right now in Skype, so you wouldn't miss much. The op sGs channel may be used for some chatting, but it's mostly necessary for meeting up for weekly tourneys and other events.

Ok, this is probably a very newby question. I was hoping to add the sGs. to my name and I understand to do so, you need to make a new iCCup account. Problem is, I get the message that there is already an account by that name. So you'd think there's some sGs.Passafist out there right? But I don't think so. I've tried making a new account before and I've just tested again. A string of random letters and numbers such as sGs.reo198akjroe will get the same message. (or sGs.any1rey8ve).

I've had this happen to me a couple times before, usually un-installing and re-installing the AH launcher has solved the problem.

For those that tried using an old version of Skype (I'm using v4.0 which uses half the RAM), auto-update might mess up forever and you end up using the latest version. I found a way to fix it!
Go to C:\Users\<profile>\AppData\Local\Temp and remove SkypeSetup.exe Uninstall the latest version and install the old version you wish Go to Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> Uncheck "Automatically download and install it"
And there you go, you should never be bothered by auto-update again

You'd think so, but none of us were even D+ at the time. Now after more people have joined in our rank dropped considerably more toward where it should be though.

Otherwise I feel like I'm taking something away from a person who wins vs me, and I feel like an idiot (esp. since somehow I am usually the only person who feels the lag haha). I dunno if it's my internet or what, but I seem to only get good lag with about 30% of people... So don't be offended if I leave and it didn't seem that laggy to you. On my end it my cursor is missing a fifth of its frames and my commands aren't going thru the first 3 times... It almost makes me just want to become a spectator permanently.
However, if we have good lag I'm up to play several games in a row, no matter how badly I get stomped

When you open the iccup launcher and before you hit the Play StarCraft: BroodWar button, look up. There ought to be a box to check for Chaos Plugin, LAN Latency, and Window mode. Make sure Chaos Plugin is checked.

Okay guys, this what always seems to happen to these initiatives; everyone gets excited for a couple weeks and then stuff fizzles out. Lets not let this happen.
That said:
This Saturday at 7:00 PM MDT / 9:00PM EDT we will have a little training session. Depeding on number of people we will get into groups of like 3-8 and have people play a game, and then everyone watch replay and discuss what both players did good/bad/ugly/etc.
ICCup Channel: op sGs Be there.
|
Yeah what L_Master said sorry guys but my main way of conversing and planning something is usually through skype and i havent found an alternative for that yet so we'll have to individually help each other out. Also lately i've been extremely busy for college preparations and etc so my life is a little bit of a mess right now so again sorry and i would love to see people do the training session.

you're not missing out on much, xerox. For there being like 40 members, it is hardly even really a team, and noone seems to play together unless there's a rw. We don't have a bot, no clan wars, and noone really taking the initiative.

there is even a cuban server.. so it is possible, that's just your internet configuration, probably;)

Yes, but the conections used to enter the cuban server arent the ones that are available to public. Those conection are reserved for some workplaces (i upload everything related to our events from a friends work were the conection is like broadban, he even enters iccup) but the internet that i have, which is the only one available for public use is very restricted.
About the proxy thing, i also tried that, but it lags so much, apparently the proxy thing takes so freaking much from my conection that leaves nothing available for starcraft lol

You have to be invited to the sGs Skype channel. I'll have to handle that for you.
Either add me (duncan.mcfarland) on Skype or post your Skype name for me to add. I'm going to start adding more of you who posted in a sec.
Alternatively, we're working on setting up a website for us (in the past hour it started loading very slowly for me, hopefully that clears up):
EDIT: Disregard this website. I'm working on another.
It has a web IRC client similar to the one here on TL. If people like it more we may switch to it. It's definitely more accessible to new members.

Alright just had a little meeting about the direction for sGs and for the time being this is the plan.

I just have to join the icc team?
Yes. Thats pretty much all. Obviously those times are to ensure that people are on and you can get a good group to practice with. Some of us will be on at other times too obviously so feel free to msg anybody for practice at anytime of course.

ALSO, as a bit of info, and since the site is slow, if you want to access the IRC channel via an IRC client, it's on the server irc.quakenet.org in channel #starcraftgenerations. If you ever need to be added to the Skype channel, just pop into the IRC channel and I'll invite you.

I hit join but i live in +1 KST time, so i might not be able to do things with you guys.
|
can we get a bot somehow so our channel is always there? ^_^

This is in the works. Should be up sometime soon.
|
I joined . I've just started playing bw. I picked protoss and I'm going to play PvZ only for a while. Learning wall-ins on fs right now. I'm PirateToss. Is there anything scheduled for today?
|
Not sure how many people will have seen it already but 9:00 CET today is the designated time for people to get on today and practice some. Meet in channel op sGs.
I don't know for sure if alot of people will show up, but if not we are definitely having our first event Saturday, and hopefully within the next week will start to get our organization good and consolidated.
|
Bot's up, by the way. The Bot is sGs.Warbringer.
|
What is CET? Is that Central time US?
|
|
Which, if my calculations are correct, is about now. Is anyone showing up to the practice?
|
I'm in the channel. I think so at least. I can only see the bot.
|
Are you PirateToss? Because if so, we can just get some practice in considering nobody else barring Smile is really on.
|
I would love to practice a bit.
|
sent request, DoC.lemOn on Icc.
i didn't play in like 2 years so I suck but it should be fun to get some games going. I will join you here and there, would be nice gto have the good ol' team trashtalk and matches

Hey everyone!
Important update! I've finished setting up the clan website.
http://starcraftgenerations.webs.com/
This is NOT the same as the previous site linked earlier. That had annoyances that I didn't like dealing with. Sorry for everyone who signed up for the other site, but we're moving to this new one. This site will be important for organizing tournaments, clan wars, practice sessions, and other clan events. So check it out and sign up!
|
Look great man! Thanks for all the hard work, and thanks to Kibbit for getting the bot setup to maintain the channel. See you all Saturday!

The calendar shows practice session at 9:00PM, is it already converted to my timezone?
|
It isn't converted to your time zone. It only shows as it is for US East Time Zone. I provided a "Time" page on the website that always shows US Eastern time so you can sync up and see when an event will start.
|
sGs.EmoDe is ready to play any1 on iccup c/c-/d+/d all night - i am 2500 24-11 zerg Channel op sgs
|
Look forward to seeing everyone in a little over two hours.
Since its our first event we will probably take a few minutes to meet everyone, wait for stragglers and then depending on how many show up divide into groups of 4-6, within each group two play and then everyone goes back and watches the rep, and discusses things that could have been done better for each player.
|
This first practice session was very fun, thanks to everybody, specially to Cocky, who provided many instructive commentaries.
I'm looking forward to the next weekend!
|
Was great playing with of you guys today. Had a good turnout for the first event and was fun to get together and play with everybody, especially with a few stronger players there to give some pointers out.
Thanks to everyone who showed up!

I have an empty 25 person ventrilo server you guys could use if you'd like
|
Anyone around my timezone (close to KST) wanna play games at night? I'm usually pretty active.
|
Next practice session in two hours. Meet in channel op sGs. I probably won't make it for this one myself since I work until 10 or 11 EDT but have fun anyways!

yea seriously where is everyone?
|
i think there are people like me who are too lazy to figure out the conversion between timezone T_T but since we all seem to be on TL a lot, why don't you just post the events in KST, that way we can just compare it to "TL" aka korean time and maybe more people will show up! :D
|
+ Show Spoiler +Correct me if I'm wrong: CET = +1 EDT = -4 KST = +9 SUN - 9:00 PM EDT (MON - 10 AM KST) TUES - 7:00 PM EDT (WED - 8 AM KST) THUR - 9:00 PM CET (FRI - 5 AM KST) SAT - 9:00 PM EDT (SUN - 10 AM KST)

Thanks for this!
Seems that all the time zones are correct, so now you guys can easily and can conveniently check it against the TL calendar if your not entire sure when an event starts.

may i join? i used to bw 2v2 everyday with my friends but I never knew about TL or pro build orders. So I kinda winged it. would love to actually learn the game!

So....you're not really from Korea right?

Anyone want to go over the replays from the 680 pack with me?
|
On April 18 2011 08:16 Nazza wrote: Anyone want to go over the replays from the 680 pack with me?
sure. if your on the sgs channel on skype, just type and there and we can go over some reps
|
Judging by the schedules of the activities, it looks like I won't be able to participate in most of them due to timezone problems. Still might sign up for this, would be nice to be able to play a casual game now and then. And it's still going to be people to discuss Starcraft with.

The clan league keeps getting pushed back. Right now it's set for May 7th.
Because we have another open weekend we're having a tournament to take our usually clan league time slot. Sign up for it at our clan website in the forums here:
http://starcraftgenerations.webs.com/apps/forums/topics/show/4708614-sgs-clan-open-1
Like I said elsewhere, don't be afraid to sign up if your rank is too low/you haven't played in awhile and would like to practice instead/whatever other excuses. We just want a lot of people to show up so we can have fun and actually be a close clan. We're mostly D/D+ anyway.
We'll meet in op sGs on ICCup at 1pm EDT Saturday, April 30.
GLHF!

This team is a participant in the iCCup Clan League which means they have a Clan Match every Saturday at 11 am EST/ 1700 CET
|
Hi guys I would like to join an active clan on ICCUP like this one ^^...
|
By the way, I am now sGs.vviLL.
|
I am very interested in joining even though i don't play that much, usually only a few games on weekends. Based on what I've read it doesn't sound like there are really any requirements, but feel that I should say that this is my first season of Iccup ever. I played SC2 since releae, but recently switched over to BW. With about thirty games played I still have a very negative record, but I am interested in improving and playing some games for practice and fun.
|
Toasted bagel, join us we dont care!
look out for me, sGs.ccam, if you ever want to practice!
GLHF!
|
@ toastedbagel:
Join our clan and make an sgs name. Once you join you can see easily if we're online.
Until then come to channel op sgs!
|
Im intrested too ^_^ Do i simply have to make sgs name? D:
|
On January 27 2012 10:03 Marsid567 wrote: Im intrested too ^_^ Do i simply have to make sgs name? D: Pretty much, yeah. Then apply to join the clan on the teampage on iCCup.
Here's the new sGs thread: http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=272674 There's more info in it and it would be wise to use it instead of this one in case of any further questions/suggestions.
|
Made a forum account as -_-Quails and an iCCup account as sGs.Quails and applied to join the team on iCCup. I've only played against people twice, so expect me to be noob and very terrible when I actually get online.
