“Unpredicted all-kill”



Q: You got your first ever all-kill.
A: I didn’t even win a single game in the last WL. I was confident with the format, but oddly enough, I didn’t do well. When I practicing for set 1 of the match, I won maybe 1 out of 10 times, so I wasn’t in a great mood when the match began. PvZ in Judgment Day is really hard, but after winning today, I think that the Zerg players in my team are just really good.

Q: You seem confident in PvP
A: Not too long ago, when I lost to Jaehoon, I lost my confidence in it. Originally, I had so much confidence in the matchup and no matter who the opponent was, if I didn’t leave any spare resources, I thought I could win. I believed in my ability to macro better than everyone else.

Q: When BeSt was acknowledged as the person with the best macro in the past, you must’ve been disappointed
A: Best is known for his amazing macro and I have a similar style as him. If I’m given the resources, I’m confident that I can produce units at a non-stop rate.

Q: You said that preparing for game 1 was hard. How did you end up winning?
A: I think great prepared a wrong strategy. I went for reavers but he defended with the worst combination against reavers: zerglings and lurkers. I was able to win because of my opponent’s wrong choice of units.

Q: Another Zerg was sent out for game 2.
A: I didn’t think Juni would come out. However, I knew that another Zerg would be sent out in one of the remaining sets, so I wasn’t surprised. I already had 1 win by then, so I didn’t have anything burdening me, and I also had amazing teammates backing me up if I had lost. I was able to play comfortably.

Q: Your 3rd set opponent was the “flawless” player Stork
A: I didn’t feel pressured at all. All PvPs are the same. However, Bisu does intimidate me a bit (laughs). Stork is well-known and highly analyzed among the players, so I knew I could start off with a lead.

Q: Did you think that you could manage to all-kill prior to the match?
A: I didn’t predict it at all. Set 1 was so hard, so if I won that, I was going to pass the baton onto my teammates. I concentrated only on set 1, and therefore couldn’t practice any other maps or matchups.

Q: When did you start thinking that you had a chance to all-kill?
A: When set 2 ended, Khan only had protosses and terrans, so I thought that if I concentrated, I had a chance.

Q: What did you think about after your all-kill?
A: I’m hungry for more. I want to do better to boost my win rate, and to become two top protosses of the team like Khan and SKT to intimidate other teams.

Q: Your individual league results must be disappointing
A: I thought I could advance past the preliminaries for the OSL, but I was stopped by Action. Actually, I really wanted to play against Bisu in the group finals. I had a losing record against him, and wanted to play against the best protoss. After I dropped out of the league, I reflected on my mistakes.

Q: Anything you want to say to your coaches?
A: The fact that I was sent out first just because we were against Khan makes me feel a little regretful. Even if we’re against a team with good Zergs, I can do well so I hope they believe me and send me out more (laughs).

Q: Anything else?
A: My goal was to get 1 kill, and 2 kills at max, but it feels really good to have performed an all-kill. Also, it’s fluttering to meet my family after a long time. I don’t really want to see my dad, but I want to see my sister who’s 9 years younger than me (laughs). I told her to text, but she never does (laughs). She loves me so much, but I don’t know why she won’t text me. I raised her by myself too (laughs).
