With Jangbi out of the top 10, that absolutely leaves protoss in the dark for this month. Jaedong's 1200 point lead is pretty nice, and Fantasy passing up Flash was expected, with Gom's lack of kespa backing.Other than that, nothing spectacular except for Effort slipping into the top five somehow with an abysmal month and Calm with a noticeable boost. Swarm season indeed.
lol@1200 gap How the hell did Backho sneak into the Kespa Rank :/. Best seems to be going of the PR anytime soon. I wonder if JD can break 4k, that would be awesome.

It is the easy race. It's just that people who are really bad at the game pick the easy race and expect to win by playing 3 hours a day, but then people who pick the hard races like Zerg and Terran practice 24/7 and they beat people who play only 3 hours a day.
As we all know, Bisu and Stork suck at Starcraft, and they play only 3 hours a day and just make dark templar every game. But good players in the other races are more versatile than that so they know how to beat Dark Templar so that's why Protoss is failing so hard.
Protoss is noob race and only noobs play it, Bisu and Stork don't deserve to be progamers because they pick the easy race and Starcraft should really only have two races.

I think once fall season starts up though Protoss will pick back up. Legend of the Fall and all that good stuff.

Try something like iccup C rank race distribution, or iccup C rank average APM between races to see which race is the easiest, not which race is doing best at the moment in the competitive scene. .

Funny how people say Bisu and Flash are on the same level as him, yet he still keeps taking home the OSL trophies. And surpasses them by +1000 points on kespa.

wow Jaedong ! I guess his ranking will remain that high ,even if he starts playing really bad, for the next like 3-4 months if I understand the system correctly

That has mostly to do with the way Kespa rank is calculated. In terms of their play, they ARE fairly close, or at least close enough that +1000 points does not portray how close their head to head play would actually be,

That's the reason. Kespa rank is weighted more heavily on starleague titles, and more specifically RECENT starleague titles. It overvalues starleague play (IMO a player who does well in a starleague but poorly in proleague shouldn't do THAT much better than someone who does well in proleague but poorly in starleagues--particularly given the increasing importance of proleague), and it makes the stats have a long lag time (players that have starleague wins take forever to drop off when they're slumping). The ranking system comes from a time when people cared a lot less about proleague, and unless I missed a recent update in how they do it, proleague gets undervalued.
Basically, this tells us what we've known about Jaedong all along. In terms of single games and overall statistics, Jaedong/Bisu/Flash are fairly close (Jaedong might even be behind looking at the statistics). What makes Jaedong better than Flash and Bisu is that he wins critical games, particularly Bo5s.

I don't know what rank you're looking at, but I see Leta above 3 of the finalists this season.
Mogwai please, that's not a satirical comic, it's a series of photographs taken at KeSPA headquarters. SuperArc should submit his complaint to that KeSPA official.

Truth's been obvious for a while. Jaedong's been tearing it up and no one can deny that.

Actually, he's playing in the house that Blizzard built. Being the Bonjwa of the toughest period is pretty sick, EVEN IF you weren't old enough to play the game at its inception.

Boxer built the house, Blizzard only provided the construction materials. Boxer was the best when Starcraft was just a bunch of kids living on ramen, noodles and dreams. Jaedong is the best when Starcraft is a corporate-run industry worth millions. It takes a completely different person to excel under the conditions Boxer did, then under the ones Jaedong does. Trying to make some kind of comparison is just going to come down to personal taste.
You can argue with a satirical comic if you think that points it's trying to make are bad. If JWD is just trying to be funny and not really criticizing Kespa he's just making the same joke over and over. "LOL automated ranking systems can lead to bad results sometimes"

ok, fine, then he's arguing with a satirical comic poorly.
Hwasin's career stats are 186-147 (55.86%) according to TLPD, Luxury's are 148-111 (57.14%). It sure seems like they're in the same league of overall consistency to me. The jab at both of them was funny IMO, and I don't understand how someone can seriously take offense to JWD's comic footage from Kespa's ranking room mentioning them in the same breath.

You get exponentially more points for beating players higher ranked than you. Everyone that was around Perfectman's rank before he beat Iris are all generally close because they rarely play games that affect their rank. Perfectman got a massive jump in points for beating Iris, and therefore passed up a lot of people with exactly the same rank. If he beat Iris, or someone equivalent to Iris before perfectman beat him right now, he'd move up far less.
It's sad so see Best fall below Bachho as well as all of the other players who did well last season.
I'm surprised at how well Hwasin and Jangbi are doing right now, I haven't had much exposure to them I guess. I haven't watched too many of their games.
If Jaedong makes it to 4000 he will create such an uproar in the community, he has proven that he is (nearly) immune to the "burn-out" affect other players experience, but can he take it this far?
