CPL Cannes results #1 Intox #2 Insomnia #3 Didi #4 Soul Intox came here slightly as a surprise mostly due to dott/aow strategy that was for the first time seen in a big tournament. Most of the players bet that ranks from #2 - #4 would take top 3 spots. Clikarena results #1 Didi #2 Soul #3 Insomnia #4/#5 Intox/Anyppi ? You can see the pattern here. 90% of players claimed DIDI will win it and he did. Other players also ended up as expected. I am not counteing in Anyppi here since korean and europeans community are still quite seperated and its hard to predict how will koreans perform. After Clikarena lots of things happen, there was a MAJOR patch that quite drastically changed the gameplay and two of the best players (Insomnia and DIDI) lost their internet access for a month. The next big tornament was supposed to be Lan Europa that was cancelled. However there was a qualifiers tourney that was supposed to determine seedings in this changed enviroment. It was won by Heman followed by Fatc, Tod and Madfrog. Those 4 players didnt attend/perform too good in the previous tournaments mostly due to relative inexperience in lan tournements. The next big tournament was ESWC, DIDI didnt manage to qualify, Soul couldn't attend russian ESWC qualifiers but won PG challenge that took place at same date, Insomnia was not up to date with current strategies and counters (no i-net since clik) witch was the reason he lost against tod. ESWC Results: #1 Heman #2 Madfrog #3 Fatc #4 Tod Most players and general audiance saw them as favourites to win the tourney. Frog won almost all online fun/invite tourneys before ESWC whilst Heman was ranked no.1 on Europe at the time he went to ESWC. About the pro level of Warcraft3, I don't know what is the current state of the Korea progaming in Warcraft but what I do know that there already is a team of foreigners formed (heman, frog and 2-3 more europeans) that will go to Korea and play there for 6 months with salary while competeing in the team and individual leagues. That is really a lot compared to the amount of foreing brood war players that were in Korea. Id also like to add here that WCG results might be pretty unexpceted. Since almost everyone good transferred from classic to tft and are practising tft only witch will give chance for some lesser known players to perform well. I know this is mainly a Broodwar site and brood war users here are tired of Warcraft players trying to explain the game is good but I had the urge to write this down ![]()

while your post was good, it also included the paragraph "About the pro level of Warcraft3, I don't know what is the current state of the Korea progaming in Warcraft but what I do know that there already is a team of foreigners formed (heman, frog and 2-3 more europeans) that will go to Korea and play there for 6 months with salary while competeing in the team and individual leagues. " you have to remember that when brood war was a new game, grrr thor maynard and pillars went to korea. and I think everlast was already there at the time. so both bw and war3 had 4-5 "pro" foreigners. ![]() but much <3 anyway

![]() Liquid^Drone : Yea i knew that also, but it is very unlikely that at this point a full team of foreign Brood War players mostly unknown to Korean public could be formed and sponsored.

![]() but about war3, there is just so much luck involved comparing to broodwar, my bro (whos an exact opposite of me, plays war3 instead of BW) won a LAN tourney just cuz he found 3 books of the dead ![]()

... mfg.. he didnt LET him.. see since the item spawn is using a random system.. book of the dead is a lvl 6 item i believe, so any creep lvl 6 or above can drop it.. or he can drop you a fuckin mana potion or boots of speed.. but you see, since the amount of luck is tremendous.. His opponent WAS creeping just as good if not better/faster then my bro was.. but you see a fuckin mana potion and boots of speed arent exactly as good as a 3 books of the dead now are they?... Conclusion: I whole-heartedly agree with ElkY

The item spawn isn't completely random, it depends on the monster levels. A level 6 monster will always drop a good item and no boots of speed. Sure it depends on luck, if the items match your game and a rock golem is mostly better than a book of dead. 3 books of dead are the worst items you can get, too easy to counter with dispell. At the time you get those, your opponent 100% has a dispell f.e. a priest or wand of negation (classic), if he isn't a newbie. The books of dead just give free experience, a good player even won't use them in a battle. Claws of attack are good items, but there are much better. Don't try to talk about something you obviously have no clue.
