No more free vods to the members?
what it mean "Contribute"????
i understand that there is too many members want download vods.. but this is too much....

I apologize. In fact we were preparing a new function about autoPM and now I officially announce what it is. As you know the server was overloaded recently so we determined cutting off the TL members who have never made posts or a few posts. (I define these guys are GHOSTS) After this these people can't use the autoPM. (The ghosts will get another PM from TL.net Bot whenever they try it.) We are sure that is the only way to preserve our server. Please understand why we had to. If you want to download the VODs just visit another VOD sharing site such as yaoyuan.com. Our server can't hold a large number of people.

just because im not postin any spam, dont tell any1 how newbie he is asking this or that question, not making post about my girl problems cause i really dont think any of u could help me in that cases and not posting in threads where my opinion was already made clear by someone else before ( => i have not many posts) im not worthy anymore to dl the vods i liked so much?

Not posting or low number of posts doesn't mean 100% that those TL members are ghosts. Rather, this measure is an encourge to useless posts, in order to get "active". If the server is overloaded, you can que the downloaders.

mr0191 you yourself only have 82 posts and yet no one would ever think of claiming you don't contribute to the TLnet community, on the contrary you're one of the biggest contributors. I have few but from those few I have done nothing but help others and mirror files so people can download them easier. How does one 'contribute' without defecating all over the general board in an attempt to gain post count? post count doesn't always = worth, you're the biggest example of that

but at the same time I'm sympathetic towards the bandwidth dilemma because I know how much it can cost. Thanks for the time and effort encoding and uploading them for us, I wouldn't have gotten so interested in pro gaming without this thread

So I never download the VODs from here. I watch them on my TV. Remember I'm living in Korea.

the problem here is not the speed but traffics per month which cost the money.
that's the limitation of free services in the end. you have to live with it.
anyway i'm sure you could get all these vods from yaoyuan. only a little later than from this site.

I realize that but for instance say there was a similar thread for something distinctively north american that you could only get here, like cheeseburger eating contest vods, and you got denied because of your post count, despite being someone many people here are indebted to due to your hard work. I'm not claiming to be half as genuine or helpful as your yourself have proven to be but I don't think I'm a waste of space around here and will continue posting when I see fit.

but the more I type the more 'm sure you regret having to enforce a rule like this in the first place and I can't think of any other way of solving the problem so it's cool and maybe I'll eventually be able to download again in the future. Thanks

i think using bittorrent to host the vods would be a good solution. because bittorrent users are forced to share with others the parts they have downloaded. and so the load on the server as well as costs would be lower for teamliquid.

Define active? I mean, is it 10 posts? 15? 20? 100? Is posting in a forum activity? I use/bet on Liquibet frequently, isn't that activity?

I'm just reacting against some strict "this is the limit" rule - if you're looking for participation, Liquibet definately is as good as anything to deem if a person is active or not.

EDIT: And yaoyuan is the worlds slowest site, I kid you not.
