The strangest thing just happened to me in ICCUP.

I joined a D rank game on Python to practice, and the game begins.

Then the guy tells me he has a weird spot and that his mines are too far away. I'm confused so I say this should be normal, until he tells me his base was in the top left corner. So I immediately think that he made the game on the UMS mode, and I told him to rm the game since the points wouldn't count.

He probably made it in One vs One and lied to you. Then again, I dunno if you can determine a game's hosting type by looking at its replay.

EDIT: Duh I thought for 5 seconds and realized you can tell where he spawns by looking at the replay. I'm a moron don't listen to me.

Seems to me like he hosted the obs version in one on one, so the game still counts. I'm pretty sure that regardless of what map you make, if you make it under "one on one", then the winner of that game still gets points.

I thought if you make an obs map in 1v1 you spawn in middle? Not top left?

its different for every map i think. the map maker put the obs spots in the corners on python im pretty sure

I thought it was impossible to host an obs map in one on one mode because you just get the "a game by that name already exists" error. But maybe that is just me....

Different maps have different starting positions for the obs slots. Afaik different versions of python have starting positions in the center or in the corner bases.
