Our team just won the national qualifiers. Free trip to Singapore! I'm happy cakes. We played pretty steadily considering
1. It was our first time playing as a team (all 5) 2. I was on a eurotrip for 3 weeks with no dota whatsoever and I had to play after the day I got back
Finals Replays:
Game 1 necro/rhasta/zeus/abaddon/lich vs es/wl/chen/doom/pugna me necro We had much stronger late game potential so we stall the game until we (I) get fat. I played kind of sloppily at times, not managing my mana pool intelligently and running into fights with poor judgment and coordination
Game 2 rhasta/es/puck/lich/tide vs sandking/potm/necro/bane/zeus me puck Quite the reverse of game 1 where we need to force team fights and push asap. Annoying lane but top lane got raped harder so whatever Not much to say except that our lineup is packed full of rape in teamfights and we made good use of it, keeping the pressure on.
We definitely need to improve on certain points and practice more as a team now that there are no scheduling conflicts. But I'm pretty excited and think we can be a solid team even vs foreign powers.

SINGAPORE?
WHERE? :D?
Edit: Btw I thought Koreans all play Chaos...
|
|
Yes, the actual nation-vs-nations will take place in Singapore and basically free trip to singapore since WCG sponsors our trip there instead of us having to pay for the free with our own money.
I can only estimate but there are at least 20 times more Chaos players than DotA players which is why Korean dota is pretty weak since there are no ih leagues or vouch/safelist so even the best of Korea play regularly in pubs. Need bigger player base -> more communities -> more education for stubborn bfury first going noobs and higher lvl play promoting league in general

Congrats! How did your team form itself?

No sadist? Vs nether ward too? WAT A NOOB
Not really, but isn't sadist imba good, esp if youre going out of your way to buy regen (blood stone) and it looks as if you have mana problems all game.

|
|

WAIT DOTA IS IN WCG NOW?!?!?
I thought WCG wasn't going to include DotA in 2009 because of the poor reception in 2008?

It's another AOS map like DotA only with different items and heros.

We don't need any more. ~_~

congrats, whos on your team nowadays

The team battles in the first game were amazing to watch. Thanks for the replays Heen.

We've only played with the 3 or 4 of us as a team in scrims so we weren't exactly unfamiliar with each other. And Korea is a small country with a lot of people likely to live in or near Seoul so we just got together at a PC bang and it was great fun in general. Talking about dota over dinner with people you've known for a while online and making fun of them irl :D
@Butigroove: getting aura on necro is a must and I really needed the extra hp so maxing out sadist would have left me with less hp/mana. I spammed pulse too much and didn't go home often enough before pushes/fights early on. In fact, I usually do get more sadist but I wanted to play it safe. Besides bstone makes sadist unnecessary and I don't remember having mana issues after bstone.
And our team roster is: xD.Heen xD.Devil TOFU_March TOFU_Boden Kd.Mystyle (also TOFU)
but we plan to unite under one team name o_O
and yes, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia and China are Asia's big four so we better be prepared ~_~

tofu_march is pretty cool

O_o Heen 형 suppp Haven't talked to you or bottle since a year now [ wow already ] glad to see you doing well. Keep it up!
|
Hey~ Long time no see indeed. Do you still play for fun? I haven't even seen you posting here that much either O_O
zulu, you know march?
Thinking about my necro, sadist may have worked better as I usually do. I've never used that skill build before, which is why my farming was slower than usual. I was going to go heart after bstone anyway so the extra mana wouldn't have hurt I suppose. Ironic, considering I'm the one who always bitches about people overrating bonus attributes.
Our team also plans on participating in ADC 2009, here are the brackets for the qualifers: http://www.garena.com/tournament/index.php?control=Display&sno=1&sid=535
Any teams that we need to look out for?
I'll upload ADC replays when we play them (26th) ^_^

I still play for fun with friends, although much much less. I tried looking for you on MSN O_o. Mostly tdas and dota-league. and yeah I almost post none at all because I don't care/like TL's community nowadays for the most part. I also stopped posting in the DotA thread because I felt like that was a waste. It started out as me trying to genuinely help people but it was largely ignored and it quickly degraded into what it is now....
March played with Eddie on the old TPL for a bit, no? That's what my friend/teammate tells me anyway.
Your sadist was only a few levels late, maybe 3-5 from what I saw skimming the replay. That was pretty good for not playing for 3 weeks.
I can't help you out on those brackets, I only know NA and Euro teams ;x Looking forward to the reps^^
Edit: I woulda been in korea to teach again this summer but the only job I found had scheduling conflicts with my school starting up again [ you know how it is, opposite long breaks ] so I just missed out on playing dota with you again or meeting up [ UNLIKE PAPER!!! ] ><

We scrimmed against Kingsurf.SG today (3 games) and got our asses handed to us
Here's Game 2, the only game worth watching. Besides my axe sucking, their map control is really strong and necro + undying is -_- It's 'easy' to watch replays and analyze what the team ought to be doing but damn these guys are a pain in the ass to deal with in game. We were missing one of our starting members so the outcome was to be expected.
It was a nice reality check, since it gave us a good chance to improve our play and experience first hand how we ought to be playing (map movement-wise and tactics-wise).
|
i just know march from the IDEC replays, he seems to play often
|
Those are the best types of games to lose imo, its a nice reality check as you say. Thanks for the rep.
The only thing I cringed at was giving up necro and undying in a .59d game o.o...
Zulu you still play?
|
haha just to make it clear, giving both necro and undying wasn't intentional. Right after they picked both undying and necro without giving it a second thought (lol) march said something along the lines of: 'oh fuck, I must be out of my mind'
Biggest flaws in our gameplay:
1. Uncoordinated map movement (running to places because we 'think' there might be a purpose once we get there, if you know what I mean) 2. Proper warding: ward placements that have meaning and aren't always in the damn rune spots. I actually prefer warding one side of the map (1 runespot + 1 in front of tower) more than warding both rune spots. It makes it much easier to read their movement. But I'm carry/semi-carry so that's something we need to talk about I guess.
But yeah, the whole time, we were having fun being schooled. There's no hesitance in their movement -_- It's as if they're all sure they're going to the right place.
