Okay. Due to popular demand, i downloaded another program : iccup. Hell let's download everything like iccup's maps, apmchart while we're at it.
First game : No problem, it was a mannered guy. I won ZvT. Apm = ~ 160. Pretty decent for someone who took a break that long right ? Whatever it means nothing but i swear i didn't spam.
Then here come the boring part : i haven't found a single D game for like 5 min, and i couldn't make any because i'm so fucking lazy to (re)configure my modem, god why is starcraft so capricious ?
And when i did find games, i kept getting banned. Reasons ? Because of everybody asking previous rank and where i'm from... When i say Hi yo, they already think i'm some sort of korean so the kick ensue. So i say simply HI plain and simple. Then they ask my previous rank (c- in season 3 or 4)... Okkkkkkkkkkkk banned again. FUKING FAG I JUST WANT TO PLAY FUUUUUUUUU AND YOUR GAY QUESTIONS, WHY CAN'T YOU PLAY WITHOUT MINDING IF YOU'LL BE PLAYING HARD OR SOFT ?
Just don't play iccup if you're so afraid of losing FFS.
How did starcraft pissed me off so much after 2 days when i simply wanted a simple fucking game to have fun ?...
Who cares. It didn't stop me from searching games and now i'll call it a day : 5-0.
Will probably continue tomorrow until i get D+ or c-.

Always say D+ until you get to C-/C, then the newbs die out and you notice people don't ask that questin anymore, and if they do, and you answer B-,or C+/C/C- whatever you may be, they go "oh cool, me C/C+/B- (w/e)
Every time I start a new account I am dismayed at the number of bad manner players...
I feel for you man, I really hate it when they ask rank then leave when you are too high.. so frustrating.

Random is an unfair advantage that is not justifiable at all IMO. Everybody last minute race picks/changes on iCCup so as the countdown went I was waiting for race to change.. but it didn't... random :o
So instead of just immediately leaving (like I do now after this incredibly BM performance)
I ask him Race? He replies :Are you going to leave if I don't tell you?
I reply :Yes.
He replies : Zerg.

Is this the same? I don't want to be a hypocrit which is why I am mentioning this. Is it unfair to expect lower ranked players to play you + at the same time refuse to play random because it is imba? Or is this double standards... IMO it's not. Two different things.

This annoys me more than anything I have ever experienced on iCCUp....
(I'll give a couple examples)
When you join a game, say he's asking D/D+ Python and you are D/D+ and you join, then you get banned? Instantly? It's like wtf?
Or it's C- Me Z You P Destination... Ok so 1. he's already specifying what race he wants you to be and 2.the matchup/map is in his favour ok fine...
So I'm C-.... I join the game.... I pick P..... I get banned?
WHAT THE FUCK? I FULFILLED ALL OF THE SPECIFICATIONS LAID OUT IN THE GAME NAME AND YOU INSTANT BAN ME FOR NO REASON!?!?!?!?!?
This is the thing I can not get my head around. I nearly tear with frustration I just DO NOT understand this mentality.
Also sometimes I join a game C-/C and pick terran when he is protoss for example, and get instantly banned. I msg him "WTF? NOOB?" He says "I want to play zerg"...
This for me is the second most irritating thing because if he had just put that in the game name I would have picked zerg or not joined.
Sometimes they don't even say, no you zerg plz, they just ban?!?!
When if he had just asked me to pick certain race or w/e I would have obliged... this is 2nd most annoying thing for me.. not nearly as bad as them taking the time to lay out the map, matchup and rank they want, you join and fulfill all of those requirements, then get insta-ban for no fucking reason. Wow. That's annoying.
Not attempting to derail just what you said provoked a lot of thoughts from me :o

God i hate random players. I feel for you. However the worst pain in the world is zvr into zvz. That sucks, because you have no chance. I almost want to 3 hatch seedling or 4 pool every single game that some one randoms me from now on lol

Honestly do you know how much it sucks for those of us that don't have this option? I'm at university and they won't open the port, so I'm fucked and I can only join other peoples' games.
The reason you can't find a D game for 5 minutes is because too many people are lazy like you

I never get asked any questions.
When I join the game, I immediately say GL or gl hf.
I figured simply saying "GL" is a combination of:
- a greeting
- being polite
- saying you're ready for the game
..all in 2 letters. Get's the game going pretty fast.

I hate when people act like that. And i dont mind playing random because it adds a little bit more excitment to the game. (Besides, i dont win a ton anyway.)

How does playing random add excitement?
All it means is that your opening build is either going to be shit or a gamble, and that your opponent has more intel than you before the game has even begun.
That is not exciting, that is imbalanced.
If for you imbalance = exciting then .. then... I have no point. You're entitled to your opinion although I fail to see where you are coming from. I've played the game too many times to get excited by OH HES ZERG LOL... I mean there's three races I've played against and with all of them thousands of times... I feel no excitement in knowing I am behind before I have even split my workers. I feel death.

I've gotten that too at all ranks. Usually I can avoid this problem by creating games and I just ignore basically everything my oppenent says. The only talking I do is to say good luck in the beginning and gg at the end. People I play get pretty annoyed and constantly ask where i'm from and rank, but if you ignore them they eventually just give up and leave you alone.
Since you can't make games on your own you should just only join games with koreans making them (it's pretty easy to spot a korean ID) because usually they will just play any and everybody.

There's lies everywhere, how fun is that if all you want from iccup is playing for fun ? Wtf seriously.
They all tell me to play on iccup and then the players get so fucking pricks about which map / rank / race we should use...
About port forwarding, i know i'm lazy but you know what i did untill today already ? Install starcraft > broodwar > patches > get install.exe from the cd (cauz it's loud/noisy otherwise) > install iccup > maps > and now i've to port forwarding. Way to piss the newbie so much if he simply want to play starcraft without hacks nowadays. Not surprising if starcraft becomes less and less attractive.
Oh well, will probably port forwarding and hope to find the same players when they banned me. I, for sure, will not be kind.
Port forwarding, is already a pain in the ass in my case aswell, cauz i don't have access to my modem anymore and i've to reinstall the modem thing in order to be able to configure it (and can't find this godamn CD). So yeah you see how frustrated i am.

.. don't have access to the modem? As in, you set the admin password on the modem and forgot it or as in your address field in the browser has been disabled, thus preventing you from typing "198.162.x.x" and you can only click the TLnet bookmark?
Anyway, regarding the iccup stuff - do as I do, never answer any questions, just enter the game, type "go" and play. Ignore any questions during the game as well.
If you cannot find D games in the list, try asking in the channel or spam for a game "1v1 D xxxx you make gogo".
Never answer any questions. Never.

I 4 pool vs random players, every game.
If your so stupid that you cant random in your head but must rely on the randomizer (and thereby leaving me in doubt what race you are), you don't deserve better games.

"gl hf go" has been the only phrase I said on iCCup game lobby for years. Worked wonders.
Never cared about randoms, they usually play worse than those of fixed race and so predictably cheese that simply going a safe build wins like 90% PvR games.
Didn't play SC for about a year (since I got a job), I wonder how'd I perform nowadays. Last time I broke out of my break (ha!) it was a frienly university tourney and I won it. But then it was only 4 months without SC, not a year.

forwarding your ports will solve all of your problems. it's been said a ton of times in this thread, I'm just reinforcing it  gj on your 5-0!

tell them you are D at first, then when game is past 2 minutes, tell them you are A rank high
