It could have literally just been incompetence... like... they meant to but didn't add you to the list. Either way, you didn't get 0 out of it since you gained some experience... this is probably more valuable than most people realize.

Sounds quite frustrating though.

You can follow up with them for a goof and be like "yeah I'm surprised I didn't hear back considering Mr. X specifically came to find me after the interview to discuss my future availability. Can you check if everything is working? <yadda yadda>"

call the guy up or email him and be like uhh didn't u say u would contact me later on in the day?

act like u don't noe about every1 else getting their confirmation just play dumb like u were suppose to get that job but u didn't get any email from him or phone call

it's VERY possible that he made a mistake unless he was being a fukin douche bag

He's not fucking with you or being a douche bag - that's just the way it is. Maybe it was between like you and one other person for the last spot, and he wanted to make sure you were still interested and excited about the position until he had to make that decision.

Think about it from the recruiter's point of view: he might have hundreds of ppl he's interviewing for one position, and it's a lot of work just to coordinate with the 10-15 ppl that move on to the next round. Imagine if he took the time to call the other ~280 ppl that didn't make it? I'm sure he doesn't have the time to go to all that effort for no return other than to be "polite".

It sounds like you have a great attitude though, and I'm sure you'll find somethin soon.

I think you are dead on Tenken.1. The way he asked if I will be availiable for the next step sounded like he was just testing the waters to make sure that I was still an option to choose from. I assume that the ultimate decision was to go with another canidate.

I know how frustrating that is, although it's just as frustrating if you don't get called back for the interview at all. Your only recourse in both cases is to just keep applying and making yourself the best possible candidate that you can be.

Yea I plan to write a thank-you letter. I feel confident that the letter will provide closure.

edit: ok just wrote it, do not expect a reply acknowledging the email but it did provide me with some closure.
