Maybe you people remember the previous router thread I made in the general forum. Now after going to the store I found, much to my dismay that there was no WRT54GL (sold only in Europe according to one shopkeeper) nor was there an old version of a WRT54G. The only WRT54G they had was version 7. I figured that I would still be able to flash some version of a firmware on it such as DD-WRT micro. Unfortunately I was wrong and v7 isn't Broadcom based making it impossible to support, which really sucks because my laptop could really use a speedboost. (it's got a weak network card, ATheros AR928X, that gets a weak signal despite not being too far away and as a result I lag in hamachi games that I used to not). Maybe I should have gotten a WRT54G2.

That being said does anyone know any possible tweaks to this router/computer to speed up the internet speed? My OS is Vista Basic 32-bit chinese simplified.

If you use wireless you should use N and not a G router. Any of the Linksys, D-Link N routers work pretty well.
