I've been trying to set up a brainclan ladder account and stuff, with some success. I got the launcher and server added to my list, and I have an account, but I don't really know what i'm doing. Specifically, how do you create a ladder game? I'm also curious, how does the rating system work? Any other info about the server would be good too; it basically seems like Bnet Asia with a ladder.

iCCup works fine for me, but brainclan sounds more active, and maybe some korean skill could rub off.

isnt that the server you have to be logged in for 24 hours before you can play ladder?

It's a server that's 99.9% korean. I dunno about being logged in for 24 hours, but im definitely not korean, and i was able to create an account on both the website and server.

You first need to be able to play on the ladder. I dont know the actual time you have to be logged on but if you type /lgame it either says 레더게임 가능 합니다(you can play ladder games) and 레더 게임 불가능합니다(you cant play ladder games). When you can play you go to the ladder channels and pm people to play with a similiar points to yours. You cant speak in the channel only pm. If you cant speak korean usually saying your race, launcher, score is alrite 저그 브런 1000 ㄱ? Or you can put in your profile 저그 브런 귓 Zerg brain launcher whisper. To make a ladder game is the same as iccup one on one mode. The rating system is elo i dont know how elo works because i never tried brain ladder out. You start with 1000 points. Below 1000 you go to another channel for lower level players. Above 1200 you go to another channel vs higher skilled players. My friend asked someone who plays both iccup and brain hes like b- on iccup 1500 on brain ladder what he thinks about the skill level and he said brain is abit harder because they're all koreans. I think you would need to understand basic korean. You dont need a korean id number and you dont need to sign up by the site just on brain. You should try to only play against players with brain launcher because the launcher is an antihack launcher. Ones without the launcher usually hack not saying all some are just people using chaos. You need version 1.16 to use the brain launcher. Also for brain 1.16 and 1.16.1 both work. I play on 1.16.1chaos and my friends plays with 1.16 brain launcher and we dont drop against each other.

I definitely couldn't have figured that out on my own.

I can kinda read hangul, so i can tell things like map names, races, a couple random words. I do need to figure out how to display korean in the games, it only works in the channel for whatever reason.

What server used to have 10 normal game wins required to play ladder? Was it fish? I think I've tried both brain and fish.
Maybe I should start with brain again since I really prefer elo to whatever iccup rating is called. You usually hit your level really fast. Cant read or speak korean tho, but it was not a noticable problem last time.

Isn't fish and brainserver and NIC the same? I dunno.. does their antihack allow you to play on lanlatency? I herd you can have a funny icon in the chat on brainserver if you want.

I bet they lag alot over there...

brain and nic are practically the same, fish however is a seperate server. (Possibly dead now?)

Yeah, you are right - it is a separate server.

It is hardly dead though, as I visited www.fishbattle.net I saw alot of korean text but also a window with some stats for the server; seems there are almost 80,000 users registered and they also have their own antihack (called "Aqua Launcher") from what I gathered...

I also remember a korean I met on Europ telling me that they also have a ladder. Hmm,,, looks like these korean servers have antihack too.

Considering ditching iccup and playing on brain /fish/NIC w/e, maybe they also have BM players/staff but at least I wont be able to understand them when they call me noob faggot asshole.. or "dog".. yeah, some korean on ICCUP called me dog the other day.. hehe, good times........ . . .

A korean friend got me to play on one of those servers with him. I tested them all and they were laggy as hell. I don't know why anyone would want to play on a laggy server over iccup.

brain mini launcher is like iccup launcher in the sense its basically chaos with an antihack

The funny icons are for people in clans/guilds or the staff for brain like i have a b.net icon with blue text in my clan channel because im a member of the clan but on another channel i dont

You have to be logged in for 13 hours not 24 hours. Doesnt matter whether you're playing or just in a channel. Usually the best way is when you're about to sleep log in brain leave it on for the night and you will usually be able to play in the morning.
