nice deal for 300$, i just put new pickups on my piece of crap, but it wont help much, i really should buy a new guitar too.

I've never been too big of a fan of EMG's. I prefer Dimarzios or even duncans. I've just never been too satisfied with the tone out of active pickups, and i've tried everything with them. They don't suck, but they definitely, to me, never feel as special as everyone makes them out to be.

Yeah, SD's are really nice. I really want the clean whine of the active pickups to play Killswitch Engage type songs. I also don't want the excess sound picked up by passives. My next guitar will be something with a Seymour Duncan JB+59 reissue, or i might just get a epiphone les paul standard and replace the stock pickups with Burstbuckers.

I liked the Duncan blackouts. My beef with EMG is that they make every guitar sound the same :/

How did he get the drums into that song? Is it resampled?

my crap is hardly worth mentioning, a bc rich warlock bronze, i put in some pickups that were taken out of some ibanez guitar, designed by emg but not emg, i figured they cant be worse than the the ones that came with the guitar, especially considering i didnt pay for them.

Nice dude.
My first guitar had emg 81/85s. They weren't bad at the time, but I've gotten to the point where I just can't fucking stand active pickups -_-
Personally I think the EMG HZ is infinitely better, and it's a really good pickup, but whatever floats your boat
I like that vid. The guy is good, the only thing I don't like about his playing is his vibrato. It's pretty shallow and hard to hear :\
Oh and also he really needs to learn to alternate pick T_T my god he's like spazzing his hand back and forth downpicking everything at 1:20 or so.
