Dragon Ball Z is obviously one of the greatest things ever. if someone who was NOT a DBZ fan agreed to watch 49 episodes, which 49 would you show (like what saga would you start on) to best show the absolute amazingness of DBZ?

im THINKING the beginning of the freiza saga, any suggestions tho?

dbz is at its best b4 the 15 episode fights that last forever

and watcht he dub for added comedic effect

I would say, my favorites would be the Freeza saga. It involved the first SSJ transformation and was the first time anyone witnessed it until it started getting too boring SSJ234 >.>. Another would be the cell games? Since it was pretty awesome with Gohan getting his SSJ2.

Why 49? lol. DBZ is probably the most popular, but I still think the original Dragon Ball was the best! The series just kept getting darker and darker up to DBGT. I wish they kept the light heartedness of DB.

(to answer your thread, I think my favorite episodes are where the Earthlings fight Nappa and Vegeta. I think I cried when Piccolo sacrificed himself for Gohan (zomg should that be in spoilers?)

I liked the manga better. I just can't watch something as good as dragon ball on T.V

I've actually been thinking about picking up a couple DBZ DVD's as I haven't watched any for a VERY long time. I remember after the Freiza epsidoes (which I beleive is the thrid season?) I didn't enjoy it as much. So I'm looking at picking up one of the first three seasons, so lets hope this thread helps =O

I don't even know if DBZ has 49 episodes of contents. They would literally charge up for three episodes, fight for half, then charge up again for three more.

Watching it on TV (with weekly releases) was the most painful thing I have ever endured in my life. But then again, I had nothing better to do in Grade 6.

I dunno, best way is just start at the beginning and be around 12-15 years old. The first time around the slow progression of the storylines won't bother you anyway, especially when you download the episodes.

Haha in Holland it came out every weekday with 2 episodes at a time, that was so awesome.

i've never been more frustrated by the 2 minute progression in time during a 30 minute episode
the worst was during the end of the frieza saga, when the planet only had 30 minutes before it would blow up
...
15 episodes later (exaggeration) still going

Dragon Ball Z was pretty good UNTIL Freeza Saga. After that it was downhill, it sucked.

The thing that made me more angry was 5min lasting 10 eps (goku becoming SSJ or something)

you should start at an episode before he starts battling nappa/vegita. Thats one of the most epic series, and will still get you to the frieza training at least, and probably the fight

Anything but GT. I would personally say the Android / Cell Games, just because the freeza saga kinda drags out forever I don't know if I would use my 49 episodes on them when half are filler.

Although the first SSJ episodes are pretty epic.

GT Isn't even part of DBZ. It's just some bad sequel different people tried to make if I'm correct.

The ones I remember most vividly are the Frieza ones on Piccolo's planet where Goku first goes Super Saiyan.

The Cell Games would work too though.

I prefer the Cell saga, but I would start with the episode when Vegeta comes to earth to find Raditz.
