What if in a progaming match, someone typed gg but didn't actually leave the game and somehow ended up winning? Whats the official meaning of losing in a game, typing out gg or actually leaving the game? Hmmm

Hm how strict are they about that rule? It would be funny if the loser typed 'gg' but then the winner accidentally responded with 'ff' or 'GG' or something like that and got disqualified.

If you type anything you lose, hence if you type GG you lose, the only reason the other doesnt lose when answering is because the other guy already lost, if you want to look at it that way =O

Well I remember that Backho types 'zizi yo' even when he wins, so they cant' be too strict.

Well, if I had to guess I'd say GG = 지지 which can also be translated as JeeJee and kind of ZiZi.
But I could be way off.

I never understood why the players cannot write anything during a match.
I understand that they might be afraid of swearing, but banning players for typing anything is simply retarded. The players could always say something interesting, even a "^^" after some nice action could be interesting - in terms of marketing. I remember that in some old Boxer-Nada match, that was made for fun, Boxer typed something funny in Korean (something regarding Nada's name, or whatever). This lead to people talking about the game - so probably more people would watch them.

Does anyone have any ideas why the leagues have so bad marketing skills?

They want them to focus on the game, and not make stupid mistakes while typing/distracting the other player.

It just adds a lot of legitimacy to the game if you don't allow the players to joke around like it's some casual hobby. My point seems to prove itself if you look at more casual events, like bnet attack, or random fun little tourneys where they are allowed to talk.

They had those rival matches where they were allowed to "talk", I got very annoyed because I just think that they didn't try hard enough to win those matches.

Of course if you type something inside game and kEspa referee maybe thinks that he/she has problems and pauses game (because typing is not allowed, unless you type "pp" for pause). There might be situation when P letter might be broken. You don't need that often P letter as zerg or protoss cant make probes because P is broken etc.

boxer once commentated during a game on (neo?) forte that his main was too small.

his poor opponent freaked out because he thought that it implied some sort of crazy proxy strategy and wasted a lot of time scouting all over the map. the rookie then proceeded to lose the game.

since then, chatting has been banned.

the players who writes gg loses the game.
Doesnt matter if he would win it or not.
I think he HAS to leave the game after he types gg anyway.
But otherwise it doesnt really matter because the other play can just stop playing and walk away ~~~
