NCH RecordPad is much like Audacity. Try using NCH WavePad which has some wicked awesome editing tools and for adding effects. It can also record like Audacity. I use NCH MixPad to flawlessly stream multiple sound cards into one MP3. That's what I use when I need to record from my mic, StarCraft background noises (marines dying), and another commentator at the same time. http://www.nch.com.au/ | ||

There is a free recording program called REAPER tha is made by the same people who made Winamp. Its at reaper.fm. Not only does it allow you to record as many tracks as you want, you can also set the audio to video that has been imported, although you cant edit the video in REAPER the audio can be choped moved tweaked etc. Also there is an effect that comes with REAPER called a "limiter", which sets the audio to never peak above a decibel limit that you can control. Meaning, when Daniel screams it will automatically lower the input for you, instantly. The limiter comes with the program you jsut have to add it as a track effect on the track you are recording on. One more thing also, the audio on the site scfor all has many pops and loud cracks. There is an audio program called Izotope RX that is used for forensics to clean things up. It can remove pops, clicks, and even distortion present in any audio signal. So if you know of someone who is audio saavy they could use RX to remove the distorted peaks from the VODS currently on the site. RX is not free, its actually about a grand. But there are ways around paying for things you dont tend to make money off of if you know what i mean. Hope that helps. | ||
