Ok, my ipod seems to be having screwed up now, and i've only had this for like, 1-2 months and its really bothering me
the Right side of the earplug isnt making any sound, only the left side is
Is there any way i can fix it, or do i have to send it to the apple company or something,

maybe you blew out ur headphones. That happened to me with my apple headphones(that came with ipod). the sound only comes out of the right side because the left was blown out.

Are you sure it's the iPod (as opposed to the earbuds themselves) that is having problems?

Actually, its the earbuds, god damn it now i have to get new ones :-/
I assumed it was going to be the ipod's problem because thats what my friend told me that happened to his ipod, and it was true
His ipod screwed over his sound, which only had sound going to the left
I just tested my earbuds and yes you are correct, the right side is blown out
god damn it now i have to find a new earphone, lol

You should be able to get them replaced for free from Apple, assuming your iPod is still under warranty: Link.

My had the same problem, except because it got stepped on. I ended up buying a better set of earbuds. Dang cheap though. On a side note, the face buttons are unresponsive on mine, I have to press in a small portion of the button to get it to work.

While we're on the subject, does anybody know of any hardy but convenient earbuds? Cause I tote mine around a lot so they often get broken.

Just buy better headphones/earbuds imo, the ones from Apple are kind of crappy anyway. You can get decent quality for like $25 or around there.

haha good thinking, but i bought it off of amazon, didnt have any warrenty

i got sennheiser cx500's, i think it's my earphones because the right sound is not dead, but feint, plus they are high quality earphones so i doubt they can die so fast.

i have the problem originally stated in the OP; my Ipod is coming apart at the sides and i've tried/tested a lot of various earphones to no avail
is it time to buck up and get a mp3 player?

ipod stock headphones suck dick big time. Get some nice ones, Like the stock ones i got from my creative x-fi they are really nice,

The Bose headphones don't keep accurate sound when they noise cancel, but for everyday use it's really pretty good. I have triports, and they're pretty nice (the older ones, not the noise canceling ones).

happened with my ipod headphones too, i never turned em up loud at all then suddenly the left one just didn't work. i just bought a new set of headphones cause i wanted some anyways. i tried the ipod headphones on my old mp3 player and they still didnt work so i guess its a good thing its not the ipod but i dont really know what you can do. try sending it in to apple i guess and see if they replace them for free

So it's an ipod it doesn't keep music accurate mp3 has never kept music accurately. Has the worst loss of quality in formats but it's small =p Also sure you becoming death also makes the sound seem different.

It's why all my music is on my creative zen x-fi with the best audio return. Proven cause it sounds well even when playing out of big speakers. Also don't get crappy headphones when i bought it. ipods are dated and becoming overrated it's sad a good product not being really updated is becoming a bad product. It's why all my music is done in AAC (using nero AAC encoder)

I rip in full .wav PCM lossless (i just re-encode to the best format for my portial music player when i can) from my audio cd's T_T most of my music i have from cd's i have few dled music just cuz once you stick to higher quality sound you really notice the lower quality even if it's not bad you notice it.
