I made a decision not so long ago that I'm going to go back to Korea, the motherland.

If anything, it's thanks to my summer vacation. It wass six years before I came back and loved every single moment of it. However, my two months stay happened in an instant, and before I knew it, arrived back at the JFK airport.

I love Korea. Everything about it. Maybe it's because I just went there to play around instead of working or study, but there's one thing I know for sure: Korea is a busy area, no matter where you go (for the most part). I'm talking like around the Seoul area. In the east coast, where are places where it's busy, bright during the night, fun, have a lot of things to do? Off the top of my head, two cities come to mind: New York and Boston. But for people like me who don't even live close to New York, which takes like an hour away by train, I can only afford to go like twice a month.

So in other words, I'm the type of guy that lives to live the city life. Somewhere where it is always busy. Lifelike. A place where people never "sleep". And the perfect place for me would of course be, the motherland. You step outside, walk a good five minutes maybe, and BAM! Everything is there: tons of restaurants, karaoke, pool, internet cafe, clothing stores, you name it!

I'm not so sure when I am going to back, but I'm going to try my best to go every summer to intern. My dad is friends who has a high position in Samsung and all I would need are decent grades to get accepted. If I can't intern, I'm going to go with my OWN money that I am going to get from a job. So I need a job ASAP!

Maybe once I'm done with my undergraduate studies (Engineering) I could transfer to university in Korea. But damn, Engineering is gonna get so hard >_> And lastly I need to brush up on my Korean so that I am both fluent in Korean and English - a quality that Korean companies look for!

Sorry, just writing out my thoughts...

Before you consider going definitively to Korea you've got to ask yourself this very important question: what is your apm?
Great people talk about ideas. Average people talk about things. Small people talk about other people.

I hope that's an average, and not a sum total ;-)

I heard you need at least 300 APM to get through border control.

Tamworth. 6 hours from sydney. we go to the central coast every now and then but the closest thing we have to a beach is a dam with a rope swing, its full of shopping trolleys.

ah thats quite far from me (i used to go to forster sometimes when i was a kid), i live around the sutherlund/bankstown area, further south. its a nice place, where i live its pretty clean near the burbs, lots of parks and ovals, small streets and not many cars, mix of culture etc.

ur not missing out on much at bondi or cronulla, its always overcrowded and full of dumbasses, im not really a beachy person but id rather go to a secluded spot rather than deal with the masses

Unless you're rich, living in Korea is pretty hard. If you're rich, then Korea is a very very nice country to live in and have fun. That's what my parents tell me. Also, Korea is a very very busy place so you can get frustrated by the smallest things. After you live there for a while, I think you will even get sick of it and want to move somewhere else.

Engineering is prob the hardest course. You need to study very hard to pass it, even if you're brilliant. And unless you're freaking smart, getting to a high position in Samsung is near impossible.

lol my parents own two apartments (not the whole ones, but like two places) that I could live in, so I guess all I need would be is for me to work ^^

But yea school has only started and it's getting a little hard >_> I really need to step it up! xD
As for Samsung I''m not talking about intern, not job

I know the exact feeling. There's few things I love in life, but being in Korea is definitely one of them.
My reasons are different, as I'm not a city kind of guy but I can relate to the feeling you're talking about. Even if I'm just chilling in shigol with my older relatives I love being there. I went last summer too to teach English. I'm planning to go again next summer and work at a hakwon my cousin works at.

Yeah hopefully my dad will be able to get me an intern spot. Otherwise I'm going with my own money ^^
