Honey doesn't go bad, ever, unless you burry it in horse shit or something.
If your throat is sore, try gargling salt water. The other suggestions are excellent too.

Regarding honey...

If you leave it out for an extended period of time... it may start to foam and look disgusting. In this case, just warm it up and it goes back to normal.

what always worked for me is taking canned chicken soup (i know this doesn't all the way apply since you don't eat meat but...) and filling it with a mix of ground cayenne pepper, habenero tabasco, regular tabasco, that dried pepper stuff you get at pizza places, freshly ground black pepper, hungarian paprika, crystal hot sauce and a tiny bit of oregano and garlic.

it cures all ills. lost voice, sore throat, nasal congestion, all that.

he potent, hot fruit of cayenne has been used as medicine for centuries.

In addition, it has been used for the following problems:

* Gastrointestinal tract: including stomachaches, cramping pains, and gas.
* Diseases of the circulatory system: It is still traditionally used in herbal medicine as a circulatory tonic.
* Rheumatic and arthritic pains: Rubbed on the skin it causes a counterirritant effect. A counterirritant is something which causes irritation to the area to which it is applied. This makes it distract the nerves from the original irritation (such as joint pain in the case of arthritis).
* Sore throat: If gargled with water it can work as an effective treatment for sore throats.
* Styptic: Application of cayenne powder has traditionally been considered to have a powerful coagulating ability.
* Thermogenic: Cayenne pepper is used both internally and externally in colder climates to protect against frostbite, it may be used in a crushed or powdered form in socks or taken internally in a tea to increase body temperature and circulation to the extremities.[1]

i don't know about some of these other crazy deals but i discovered this on my own once when i was sick for like a whole week when i was 7 years old and i made some soup and i was fucking cured
