That's not how you contact them generally. If it works, then great. Normally you go to Contact Us under the Help area. You put in your phone number and they call you when they open up.

Amazon are great about these things. I had a friend who spent $300 on a big dvd boxed set and they just left it outside his door and it got rained on. It wasn't the first time he'd had trouble with delivery so he phoned up amazon and said he hadn't gotten it and they said they'd ship another one with a different delivery company. He then sold me the replacement for half the price. :D
Basically they will always side with the customers because delivery companys are easy to find and can be replaced whereas customers being confident shopping online and spreading the good reputation of amazon is much more valuable.

This happened to me one time, same exact circumstances. It turned out that no one was here to receive the package and since they needed someone to sign for it they just held onto the package eventually sending it back 3 days later. I had to re-order it and get a refund for the last one.

My brother ordered a PS3 online, and it didn't show for a couple months. He got his money back, because the website (i forget which one) assumed that the PS3 was just stolen before it got to my brother. It did end up coming in the mail, because the mail service at the University of Alberta is real shitty at times. He got a PS3 for free

This happened to me a few months ago. I called amazon and they promptly resent all the books I ordered. They are great.

Majority of packages that go through UPS do not have to be signed, they simply drop it off at your house and scan it and theyre done.
