Well I can summarize what could be a very long post into a short, simple sentence. (Well strictly grammatically speaking it's a compound sentence but you catch my drift.)

I can't go to WCG Regionals because my elderly Grandparents are visiting from out of town the same weekend.

My mom told me last night. They're coming in on the Thursday before and leaving the Monday after so I couldn't' really figure out a way I could go when they will be here such a short time. It's also not like my parents are forcing me to stay but there's no way I could rightfully go and miss most of my elderly grandparents visit when I only see them once or twice a year.

Hopefully I'll get a chance to go to LANs in sc2 or if sc is still around in WCG next year. (aka if sc2 still hasn't been released by then)

oh btw, I sent wcg an e-mail cancelling my confirmation that I was attending so hopefully they'll notify the people who got 2nd place in the online qualifiers. That way Idra and Machine will have someone to stomp instead of getting a total freewin to the finals. (Assuming NrG.Eve doesn't come because I think he said he couldn't.)

I feel really sorry... In my stupidity I think if you ask - they could make an exception to going to the LAN (or maybe it's too late). I don't know, they should make an exception in my opinion, but I don't know if they do that.

wow. That's honestly a really respectable thing to do. I don't know if my parents would force me to stay, but I consider myself a good person and would still go if I felt I had a chance. I think you made the right decision, good work.

wow I didn't even consider that, i'll e-mail them right away and ask. I mean they are letting Idra compete from Korea so that kind of makes it so I can say "why can't I do that too" but his reason is a bit more pertinent to the competition I guess. (pertinent isn't the right word but I guess i'm saying that it's my own problem that they happen to be visiting and for Idra it's also not as sudden.)

Well I mean it would never come to my parents having to force me to not go because for all I know this could be the last time I see my grandparents before one or both of them die. They're in really good health for being 86 and 82 though.

If my grandparents weren't coming my parents still wouldn't want me to go because it's at the start of the school year but I'd just make them accept it.
