Buying a Wii today, what else do I need?

exalted United States3612 Posts February 02 2008 19:30 GMT #1 Sup all, its 7:41 here in New Hampshire and I'm going to Circuit City around 9AM - for they have Nintendo Wiis in their weekend advertisement! I've been trying to buy this goddamn console since I came back from Taiwan for winter break, and what I want to ask you is: what else do I need to buy for it? I'm definitely getting Zelda, but what other games are recommended? Any must-have accessories (does the Wii come with one of those motion controllers or is that separate)? Time is of the essence, so advice away!

What you want to buy is a classic controller if you're planning on getting smash bros brawl and ur quite a fan of melee. Then again if you're an uber fan of smash bros melee you probably already have the old gamecube controller which is compatible with the new wii.

ram Lithuania602 Posts February 02 2008 19:34 GMT #4 If you want to play gamecube games, you have to have gc controler and memorycard... i couldn't play re0 cause of that T_T btw, are you studying in Taiwan? I'm also on my winter break here, freezing my ass off in Taipei, Danshui... >.<;

exalted United States3612 Posts February 03 2008 16:37 GMT #9 Got owned OBV, arrived there a little before opening time at 10am and they had a sign out saying that they had no Wiis. Apparently some people went there at like 5:30AM and got vouchers for them, bleh Will probably end up picking up some controllers, Zelda and Mario. Not really interested in Guitar Hero since I don't like Guitar music (blasphemy!). I would TEAR the game apart though, maybe I"ll get it eventually.

I never use it and would like to get rid of it. Right now I have 2 Wii-Motes, a classic controller, the USB ethernet connector, 2 Nunchucks, Rechargeable batteries for each of the wii-motes along w/ the base. I have Metroid Prime 3, Mario Party 8, Wii Play and Wii sports along with 7 games for the virtual console (Super Mario Brothers, Super Mario World, Super Mario Brothers 3, Super Mario Brothers : The Lost Worlds, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64 and Teenage Mutant Ninja turtles for the nes).

Meta United States6225 Posts February 04 2008 16:30 GMT #17 there's one good reason to get a wii: smash bros. that's the reason i got mine over a year ago and it's gonna be bitchin. zelda's alright but playing as the wolf is lame, super mario galaxy is extremely fun but very easy, other than that there's not much unless you're a fan of resident evil or metroid prime. i've heard good things about mario strikers too.
