oh man, a how to work around my parents blog. I sympathize man. that is a tough one. there's no getting around the fact that you are hamstrung by living under the same roof as them. until you are prepared to move out there's nothing that can be done. maybe the reason that she didn't want to invite you over is that she also lives with her folks.

do you have a car? what about a station wagon?
