This will be another short blog I think.
Even though there is a whole lot to tell I am already tired and even though we are playing better than never before I am a bit pissed off at Dota. But let's start at the beginning.
We changed our name! We are no longer called The Value Of Depth but our name is now Distortion.
Why did we do this? Well..To be honest..The name was a bit..Deep :/ (and I mean deep as in gay)
So this means this blog is renamed aswell but this should not really effect you.
I am also going to set up a new twitch.tv channel but this shouldn't have a big impact either because I will just change the links in here.
Sponsorship with teamspeak is up and running now and our server will be online this week.
So far so good. How has practice been going?
SUPER WELL!
We improved so much it is incredible. On Saturday I tweeted at Fluff to ask some questions because I had seen his coaching session on stream.
He answered these questions directly and there was one question that helped me in particular:
"How can I direct the game more confidently?"
His answer? "Fake it till you make it!"
And you know what?
It works so well..
Obviously I am like the biggest Liquid fanboy ever and when Fluff actually replied I went into Justin Bieber fangirl mode :D .
(I literally ran around in my room jumping up and down etc...^^)
My biggest dream ever was always to talk to one of the Liquid guys once (SC2 or DOTA..No difference there) and when Fluff replied half my dream came true.
It gave me a huge confidence boost because suddenly I was important enough for Fluff's time!
He told me to fake it till I make it?
Alright!
So we went into our practice on Sunday and still super happy about Fluff responding to my tweet I told everyone my plans for the game and made the calls.
"TP top now! We push it!"
"GOGOGO! Fight!"
"ROSH! ROSH! ROSH!"
Yesterday and today we won our games in under 30 minutes (one in 14 minutes) and COMPLETELY destroyed our opponents.
At no point in the game they had the slightest hint of a chance.
Following my calls everyone gave his best and played 10 times better than usual.
We worked together. We worked as a team.
Little shy Value Of Depth died. Distortion was born.
And with it the new captain of the team.
Things have changed.
There are no questions anymore. There are answers.
Rising up to my national expectations (lol sorry I had to
) I command now.I feel like this change motivates all of us and well all play so much better.
We are on a completely new level now.
We are ready for it.
We are ready for the big world of Russian Dota (is this a hint?)
We are ready to be stars (another one?)
We are ready to climb the ladder of success (and the final one?)
So Fluff? If you ever in your life read this:
I am so thankful to you. You changed me as a player and person.
You gave me the confidence I needed to present my plans and let my creativity do the rest.
You gave the whole team the chance of a fresh start. A start that will be forever remembered.
Thank you! I will always keep that in mind when I beat you up in the finals of every single tournament we meet
Sounds very nice doesn't it?
Why am I pissed of then?
Because we created a new team our ranking got reset and now we're on 2.9k even though the games were a complete destruction.
I wonder how this ranking system works as we beat a team that was ranked over 3.3k. (Well..We did not beat them..We destroyed them lol)
Stupid shit..Well..We gotta fight it up I guess.
