similar age, but with a different lighting, see how skinny her face suddenly looks because instead of light, shadows falls on her cheeks.

2. the younger they are, the rounder the face tends to be (in this case the actress Maisie Williams tends to have a rounder face to begin with), and in the books arya is about 9 years old around this time, so about a significant 3 years younger than her counter part in the tv show. I took this into consideration as well to meet it half way so the drawing is younger than her counter part in the show and a bit closer to the age in the books, this combined with a straight light to the right cheek, may create the perceived pudginess if you compare it to a 12 year old Maisie Williams.

and as you can see as she gets older, her jaw will be more and more sharper, turn the clock back 4 years and that's where my drawing was aimed at. So I wasn't just trying to duplicate the Arya on the show, but a combination of Arya from the books, drawing references from actress playing Arya on the show. A 9 year old Maisie Williams with a straight light to the cheek is probably way pudgier than what I drew. (and you also got to admit, even if I were to just duplicate Arya from the show, she often looks pudgy at times)
