Somehow, I'm in a submarine for a field trip for all the honors kids at my high school. I'm chilling with friends on all the floors, on all the decks, when I get into trouble for using this emergency escape chute as a slide from the top floor to the bottom floor to go grab alcohol. I meet with chaperone and manage to spin my way out of the situation by making her laugh; she never finds out that the water bottle in my hands is full of vodka. Then I go to the medical deck because I have a sore throat or something, and I see one of my friends with a thermometer sticking out of his mouth in a side room--turns out he has a fever.
Then I end up in an elevator heading back to my room, which I somehow know is a room with a nice window and a queen size bed. Also in the elevator are three girls--one of them this girl from the Beijing office at my last job, one HK international student from college, and one this girl from way way back, like when I was in middle school, who showed up for a semester and left for Shanghai. I invite them to my place; my friend with the fever is there too. We all end up fucking. I look over, see my friend going down on Beijing office girl, and worry about getting sick from him. I wake up while the HK girl is riding me.
And I wake up into another dream. I'm in a lecture hall; I must have been sleeping. Barack Obama is giving a lecture, he catches me waking up, frowns at me. My friends are all gone and in the hall are all the people I hated are here. They're picking people to give speeches after him. Somehow I know this is my time to shine, so I raise my hand, but none of them pick me. Then at the end, they start handing out t-shirts, t-shirts which I know I should get because of something I did, but they pass them to everyone except me. My high school rival (valedictorian of our class) starts shaking his head and avoiding eye contact with me, in a motion I immediately know means he has been orchestrating all this, since (now that I'm awake) I remember that was the exact gesture he did when he stole my graphing calculator on the day of the AMC 12. Finally I slip backstage and talk to Obama and tell him those people are "perverting the democratic process" (the only words I remember from the dream). He smiles and says that no, that they are the true essence of democracy. I head back into the lecture hall, and all these people are laughing at me. My second girlfriend walks up, smiles, hugs me, and intentionally calls me the name of the guy she dated after me, then tells me she's going to homecoming with my high school rival (which she did, IRL). Obama has left the nuclear football on the podium. I open it and see a big red button. Then I wake up, for real.

Amazing you remembered all that. I rarely remember my dreams in such detail.
You know what's also amazing? I was exactly the fist to read this. It had 0 views in the blog section when I clicked on it. Perhaps I should stop scouring TL for girl blogs and get some sleep.

Usually the recounting of someone elses weird dream is pretty dull, but the Obama bit kinda tickled me :p

i love how the people in dreams are so random. i sometimes dream more about people than i actually think about them in real life, like old classmates.

Sounds like you were a target for extraction. You really should train your subconscious. The girls you knew in the elevator, did they ask you anything in particular? Like for your number or personal information?

As someone who did psych-101 I think that makes me fairly qualified to assess your dreams, and tell you what they mean. From what I can gather, the sexual nature of your 1st dream, and the presence of your high school rival in your second dream, is a strong sign that you always regretted the fact that you never got the chance to have sex with your high school rival. I think this dream is a sign, that you should track him down, and tell him your true feelings.

You only have to try to remember your dreams every morning for a while. 
The amount of time varies from person to person, but it's usually somewhere around a month or two to start remembering dreams in detail.
Alarm clocks are dream recall's bane, though.

a friend of mine keeps a dream diary, I.E. writing down everything remembers the second he wakes up

I remember taking those tests. Calculators don't help much if you don't know what you're doing, lol.
Shady Sands? More like "Shady Dreams," haha! Mine usually start off super weird, then turn into nightmares, and I wake up right before/during my "death" in-dream. Afterwards, I try convincing myself of a happy (or at least neutral) ending to the awfulness that my subconscious subjected my mind to. X-D
