Stray Cat Kills me

So today me and my parents were searching for my first car. On the way home my father sees a help wanted sign for cabinet making and so we pull in. It's a run down kinda place and shadey looking but we pull in anyways. As my mom writes down the number to the place a beautiful white cat appears from behind some trucks in the parking lot (which is one stones). Windows up, music on, we can hear the cat meow. Then it starts to walk towards us. It's back legs are out kinda wide and it waddles towards us instead of walking regularly. Then we see its stomach is HUGE. We believe it was worms. The meow was just pain. Its still in my ears 2 hours later. so loud. we turned around to leave but there was traffic. we debated helping but we didnt know what to do. i wanted to just jump out of the car and do something but i didnt know what i could do to help it. so i sat there. listening to it meow. i wanted to lash out, yell at my parents, call someone to help it, bring it to the vet, SOMETHING. but i sat there. I was ready to burst into tears ( im kinda an emotional guy.... unfortunetly). i hope its dead right now, i dont want to see or think of it suffering anymore. i could have saved it, it was just worms and some meds would have cured it. i feel so heartless right now. i have homework due tomorrow and i cant get it out of my mind and its impossible to think. i cant eat thinking that cat is out in the wild the way it is.
fuck me man....

T_T, you can't save them all, but it sucks. If you want to make up for it go volunteer at a animal shelter when you have some time.

I don't know if I'm helping here but... This really goes on in the whole world at a vast number of places, it usually helps me when i get emotional over similar things to this to just accept it as a fact of life, there is actually nothing you can do about it so it serves no purpose to be upset over it. My point being if you can take your mind away from it that's a good thing.

The crazy guy next door to me has dozens of cats and doesn't look after them properly, but he doesn't neglect them "enough" for the SPCA to do anything about it. He doesn't get them de-sexed, so every year there are a few more batches of kittens. It's getting out of hand - and there's nothing I can do about it. Make me so mad, not because I don't like cats - I LOVE cats, but because there's all these sickly cats who have a pretty awful life and they're in my face every day. I know one of them at least is mostly blind, another has this "wheeze" which is so disturbing coming from a cat. They are all weedy and skittish, have fleas, and are just kind of gross, and they hang out in mobs defecating all over my lawn.

Even if the SPCA won't do anything try the local Health Department.

Oh my goodness these stories are so depressing T___T

Yeah, just tell yourself that it's comparatively small in the grand scheme of things, but it's still super depressing

Really tragic story, I love animals so much, seeing an animal (especially a cute one) in pain brings me emotional pain.

wow, that's sad. Maybe you guys should've called the animal shelter or something. I think they would've been able to take care of the rest but I dunno though, just an idea that's a bit too late. It's not your fault though. As mentioned, it happens all the time. Only difference is that you saw this one and not the rest.
