[Most of this actually did happen, but some parts are stretched for dramatic effect ;] ]
For the purposes of this story, I will be naming myself "Randy." Though that is not my real name.
'Twas the fall of 2010. I had been struggling for a while (about 11 months, to be specific) to get over my ex-girlfriend...I had tried everything, but she would not return to me, and, thanks to marching band, I was frequently around her.
I had gotten to the point where I literally was left with nothing in my heart, and around then was when I decided to stop wasting my life, and get over her by returning to my life as a gamer. The real world wasn't fit for me - a world full of video games and yelling and things of that nature was.
Within two weeks, I was completely distracted - I almost forgot what a girl was. I would go to school, come home, do my homework, and immediately grind 10-20 ladder games in the 4 hours that I had to play. (My games lasted a while)
Then came the day of the annual Trumpet end-of-Marching-Band-season party, where I was kind of obligated to attend. But before that I had gone to a Halo: Reach tournament, where I was kind of destroyed. ><
My ex-girlfriend happened to be there...great...so I avoided her as best I could and just hung outside with some of the other people there. I was getting really sad, when I noticed two girls just sitting on the balcony just talking, so I decided to join them.
They weren't quite welcome at first, but instead decided to make fun of me about everything they could possibly come up with, but after some story telling and some really awful jokes, they began to open up to me. We began sharing stories, me about my endeavors and idiocy throughout High School, and them about how crazy their parents were.
Eventually, they got all of their friends to join around the firepit, where we roasted marshmallows and all shared our life stories...and we bonded.
I told them about Starcraft, and they were somehow fascinated by it - especially Jamie. She thought it was cool how I had a different passion than most people, and was really intrigued about the proscene and things. I told her that I wanted to learn Korean, so that I could someday go to Korea to be in the heart of eSports, and she agreed to help me learn (since Jamie was Korean and I wasn't)
So then Jamie and I began hanging out - but I wanted to ladder, so she would come over and do her homework while I laddered. She enjoyed dominating the music that played in the room, and that was when I started listening to Kpop.
So football somehow made CIF champs that year (not division I, of course ^_^), so then we agreed to sit next to each other on the bus. It was a 3 hour bus ride there...and a 3 hour bus ride back. We basically talked about everything, and I helped her out with a bit of her homework while we were at it. We were separated during the game since she played Flute and I played Trumpet.
On the way home, however, the bus ride was a lot more pleasant. It was around 11 when the bus left, and since Jamie was a big sleepyhead, she wanted to sleep the second 2/3rds of the bus ride. So I watched Brood War VODS on my phone while she slept...and then about halfway into the 2set of the Jaedong vs Flash that I was watching, I noticed that her head was drooping on my shoulder, and I could feel her breathing. I smiled.
I eventually fell asleep, and, being the heavy sleeper that I am, I did not wake up - not even when they turned the lights on and yelled at us to get off. Jamie had window seat, so she needed me awake to get out, so she devised a clever solution. She gets the water that I was drinking and keeps dripping it on my face until I woke up...and it took a bit, so I woke up drenched, and she was laughing her ass off -_-
When we got back to school, it was around 2 am, and I hugged her goodbye, as she was about to walk home (she didn't live far.) When I asked why she had to walk home, she said her parents and her brother were out of town, so I offered to walk her home. She accepted.
So we walk home together, making silly jokes at each other, and laughing about the dumbest things (because that tends to happen around 2 in the morning for us High Schoolers), and then I get to her house, and she asks if I want to spend the night there. I agree to that.
So I fell asleep on her chair (it was pretty comfy, to be honest), and I woke up before she did. So what did I do? WATCH MORE BW VODS ON HER COMPUTER >
I had to use a new toothbrush, and borrow some of her brother's clothes (I had to wear her gym shorts because even with a belt, her brother's jeans wouldn't stay on ), and use her shower, and then we decided to hang out that day too. We went to the mall and we saw Tangled together. What a cute movie :3
So then I went home, and I slept, thinking about how happy I was.
The trips to each other's houses became a more regular thing, and we were seeing more and more of each other. She started watching the BW vods with me, and she even asked me to teach her how to play Starcraft 2...
This was one of the funniest things ever. I bought her an account (using money I made from playing poker), and she'd play 3-5 games a day with me coaching. We both played Terran >
She was soooooooo bad that it was hilarious, and the yelling and energy and the excitement was hilarious, and I'd be laughing the entire time at her failness...
Don't worry, she made fun of me of my terrible pronunciation of Korean.
I think my favorite night with her was one where I was over at her house (her brother was sleeping over somewhere and her parents were out of town...again) watching the Notebook, and we fell asleep together. I don't remember being under the blankets when I fell asleep, but I woke up under the blankets, with her arms around me.
I don't normally use the term "love" unless it's something like extremely serious, but after a few months of being with her, I was starting to fall in love with her. Jamie was incredible: she was smart, fun, and she was really into what I liked to do. I responded by being the exact same to her ^_^
Then came Valentine's Day...
So I approached her on Valentine's Day, with a single rose and a lot of hope, and I asked, "Jamie, will you be my Valentine?"
Only to have her turn around with a giant teddy bear, even more roses, and a box of chocolates in her arms...and she's like, "Uhhhh okay..."
So then Jamie and I slowly started to talk less and less, as she wanted to see this new guy more and more. She was starting to get too busy for me, I wasn't as interesting anymore, and, after a while, we basically stopped hanging out altogether.
Eventually we stopped talking completely.
Then came my birthday, and she didn't even wish me Happy Birthday (I know she knew about it, since I remember seeing it on her Calendar the many times I was at her house), and stuff, so I was kind of upset about that.
Then, one day, I got in a fight with her new boyfriend, since he had some beef with one of my closest buddies. The guy was trained in the art of kickboxing. I was trained in the art of fighting (a.k.a. playing dirty). The guy was mad...so I had to defend myself...so I fishhooked, I kicked his nuts, I did whatever I could to subdue him, since I didn't even want to fight him to begin with.
Jamie was pissed...she looked me in the eye and said "I HATE YOU."
And that was the last time I ever spoke to Jamie...
EDIT:
By chance, I ran into her today. We talked...about things...it turns out her boyfriend was a total jerk and she didn't like him anymore and all that stuff (they broke up 3 weeks ago). Problem is, I've moved on...this was a year ago, and now I'm in hot pursuit of someone else...and she wants me back in her life. Pfffffffffff. Awk.

Interesting story.... I feel like I connected rather well with it since I was also in my high school's marching band and also played trumpet so I could imagine exactly the scenarios that you were describing. Brings back good memories of competitions in faraway places, with friends that I still talk to regularly even today. In fact, now that I think about it, the only people I talk with from my high school nowadays are the people I met in marching band. It's funny considering how much of a time sink marching band was for me, when I was in it I hated it dearly, but when it was over I had a hole in my heart. So cherish your time there, you'll miss it when it's over!
As to the content of your blog, don't worry, high school is only the beginning of love dramas. You'll have more girlfriends, and more breakups. Take it as a learning experience and use the knowledge to your advantage when the next relationship comes around.
Also, I found your signature quite funny, its placing was optimal.

What everyone else is going to tell you is that it's not actually love, or that there are plenty of other girls, so don't worry. That's not what I'm here to tell you. I completely believe you when you say that you loved her, because almost the exact same thing happened to me, and I felt the same way. But that's not the point. This is the point: There is not only one person in the world you can love. If there were, your chances of ever meeting this person in your lifetime would be next to nothing. THERE ARE OTHER PEOPLE YOU CAN LOVE. <3 Also, regardless of how deeply you loved Jamie, and however cool and wonderful she was before, she's not anymore. Relationships function on reciprocity; if she doesn't feel the same way, it's a good thing you guys didn't go further, because if you did, it would end even worse. As hard as this is to accept, she's just not for you. Does that suck? HELL YES. You probably won't be able to forget about her for a long time, if you ever do. But that's good. The lessons you learned from this will stay with you, and you will move on with your life and meet someone else you love, someone who loves you too, and then make a happy blog on TL and brag about it. As they say, good luck, and have fun sir!

I'm just really angry and mad, and here's my question to you TeamLiquid:
How do I deal with this insurmountable rage that I have built up within me?
I would personally suggest that while it may seem like a good idea at first glance, venting your anger by assaulting friends of friends with greater physical strength than you is perhaps not the most optimal strategy.

omg, that was my senior year of high school. Except the girl's boyfriend was about to come up to me and start something, but he bumped into my friend who was messing around and being goofy. Long story short, the guy was not pleased and punched my friend in the gut, which resulted in the guy being slammed headfirst into the wall.
Then the story ends with the girl saying she hated me. fivestarswouldwatchagain.

Well, I was in a situation like yours with a girl during h.s., except I wasn't involved in any way in fighting the guy or trying to start a fight (since I had a few weeks to mellow out in advance), and the guy tried to start something with me.
My friend happened to be in his path as he was making his way toward me, and guy took out his anger toward me on my friend. And my friend just picked the guy up after being punched (this guy is 5' 5'' and my friend is 6'3) and threw him headfirst into a wall. I felt bad for the guy, but I would totally watch it happen again, just for shits and giggles.

That and all the comments is all I read. --- OP falls for girl - ok...
gets friendzoned - dude... but ok...
that valentines disaster - ouch... ok
girl gets boyfriend - well at this point... ok
op kicks boyfriend in nuts - *sigh* OP... while there is a dodgy organization out there with a very similar name (not the topic of this blog)... the region below the belt contains invisible children... one does not hurt them. Fight like a man... fight like a nerd... run away... whatever but not the balls. Honour... arrrrr... Ned Stark!
Everyone who has taken a self defense class (aka the one I took last week that lasted like an hour) knows that you don't kick them in the balls. You hold their shoulders, knee them in the balls repeatedly, then throw them onto the ground. After that, you either run away screaming like a stressed out day9 for help, or get on top of them, lock their arms, and whale on them like Idra when he scouts some scrub's cheese.
that time you stayed over at her house, nothing happened? that was like, the perfect opportunity for you lol. It sounds like you had something going, but then you waited "a few months" and started to fall in love, which completely squandered your chances. It's generally a good idea to get with said girl, show interest, and THEN fall in love. it's also usually a good idea to check around if she's interested in you. if you didn't notice that she had gotten a shit ton of stuff for valentines, then that's your fault for not being attentive.
And if you're fighting a guy because he has beef with your friend, it means you're fighting for respect. which means you fight with honor. If you're fighting to protect someone's life/wellbeing, then you fight dirty. If some thug pulled a knife on my buddy I'd go dirty, but if it's a grudge fight, you don't prove anything by being a thug yourself.

LOL.
Sorry, but I don't think chivalry and honor apply anymore - they're dead. Mankind stops playing by the rules the moment the odds are against us. There is no such thing as a 'real' clean fight. Real fighting is dirty.
Besides, the other guy was described as 100 pounds heavier than him and a MMA fighter. It's not like he would win a "fair" fight. Although, it does depend on who INITIATED COMBAT, to use a term.
Honor as equals. The moment someone attacks me, they have lost my respect, and have violated the mutual agreement between all human beings that is the right to life.
To the OP, AND TO ALL GIRL BLOGS:
Get the fuck over it. Seriously. I know, I'm looping the general advice of eveyone here who ever bothers to read one of these over-emotional POS, but who the fuck cares?
In the end, she wasn't worth your time. Remember the good times you had with her, and now LET. HER. DIE.

Yes...after the kick, he was down and walked away.
I wouldn't call that winning... You lost in the grand scheme, now didn't you?
Yes, I did rate your blog one star because, if you've ever been legitimately smashed in the balls, it can hurt for a long time. I once got kicked so hard it hurt (random sharp pains a couple times a day) for A YEAR. You don't kick people in the balls, unless they're sex offenders or something, I don't know. You didn't get the girl, deal with it and please stop kicking people in the balls.
One of my buds from middle school did the EXACT same thing as OP. Lost the girl (my friend was actually DATING the girl, at least), got pissed, fought the much stronger new guy, and kicked him in the balls.
And you people wonder why you didn't get the girl! Ugh... Well, I did pretty stupid shit in high school, too. But I never kicked someone in the balls :/
EDIT: come to think of it, the guy who kicked me in the balls was also smaller than me... *sigh*

Rough story, OP.
Thanks, glad not everyone here is insensitive and mean :D
How does one "define the relationship" without doing it too soon?
Well, you had already slept inside her household, I'm pretty sure you could have made a move any time Edit: Didn't really answer the question did it? Tell her how happy you are, that you want life to stay something like this, and it should progress naturally.
Lol @ the people saying the OP is a dirty wimp. What? When you're in a fight, you fight to win. You only fight by the rules if you're getting paid for fighting and winning by the rules. Hell, you're up against a better-trained guy, you better do what you gotta do to win. His fault really for not protecting his family jewels - basics of all fights since elementary school.
As for the whole story though, yeah man this is as friendzone as it gets. Way too comfortable here. You get to the minimum level of comfort to ask her out and have face-to-face interactions, then after that you stop getting too comfortable and make her confused about your true motivations. Looks like it didn't take long for her to see that you got all you wanted in the friendship with her - someone to enjoy hobbies together with and share interests - and that's exactly where she put you.
When a girl invites you over to stay overnight at her place with nobody else home (or at least all sleeping) that fucking means that she wants you to make the move. It's like the most obvious test she can throw at you to see if you want her as a girlfriend or a friend. How can she put her pride and value in a man that doesn't have the balls to follow his hormones in the most welcoming atmosphere ever?
Good lessons learned and life moves on. Since she's not willing to talk to you, simply don't. Seeing that she had the guts to bring you to her home in the first place, she'll let you know when she's ready to talk to you again.
Man this girl blog is well written, most of the time I read and just purely facepalm but Fuck dude I was cheering for you to bone Jamie.
--> When A girl invites you over the night you are either a) Gay b) She is putting a huge move on you because you never put the moves on her
--> Things woulda worked out differently if you kissed her the night you stayed at her place.
Edit: Jamie is the girls name in the movie "Just Friends" so I kept picturing her, even though she was white. And I kept picturing you are the fat dude that gets friendzoned. Lol fuck.
Directors Cut Ending: Guy gets married to Jamie. Can never have kids because of the kick to the balls. They go to sperm center and get sperm for baby. OP switches it for his own sperm. Jamie having OP's kid. *Fade to Black*
Why is everyone so pissed about the ball-kicking? I've taken multiple martial arts over 6+ years. I feel like I could handle myself in a "fair fight."
If it were a street fight that someone else started, I would kick him square in the junk if the opportunity presented itself. No shame in that. "Rules" are for games like sparring and stuff. And idiots. Not getting hurt is what counts in "real" fights.

Well done, Im surprised he didnt make a move when her parents and brother were out of town and he was AT HER HOUSE. Jesus you can only blame this on yourself OP.
Most of these people telling you not to kick someone in the balls have no idea what can possibly happen in a street fight, especially with a guy double your size. People these days dont fight fair either way. How could the OP know that if he were to lose the fight, that it would simply be over and done with? What if the guy decided to fuckin stomp his head after he went down? Or kick him in the face over and over? How many of you have actually been in a legit street fight where the outcome could lead to serious damage for either party? I think kicking someone in the balls in order to win is perfectly fine, because odds are it just saved you from a $8,000 hospital bill had he gone too far and seriously injured you. Ignore all these people who think chivalry and rules are required, as they obviously have never been knee deep in the shit!

i liked the part before you were physically harming any people involved. not that i think kicking nuts is a bad thing in general - yet one'd be better off handling _that certain kind of stuff_ differently.
i think you blew it. you didn't buy her a teddy bear!

wtf why did the op kick her boyfriend in the nuts, what a dick.. op sounds like a protoss
read the actual post, wow you really ARE a dick op, i can understand why she hates you lol
Sigh
What happened was a friend of mine and him were getting in some disagreements. I was defending my friend. Things escalated. I kicked him in the nuts.
If you read carefully, you would've seen that.
you kicked a guy in the balls.... dick move, idc if he is making fun of your friend or fucking your girl on the side, fight him like a man or don't fight at all (imo anyways, i would like to think that men in our age have some sense of chivalry and honor)
Oh fuck that man.
Once you decide to fuck with someones girl on the side or fuck with someones best friend you have reliquished your right to a "fair fight."
If you do something stupid expect to handle the consequences like a man. That includes taking that hit to the balls like a man because you deserved it. Own up bro, own up. I mean really, if I fucked my friends girl and he gut punched me out of nowhere because of that...well I deserved it.

One of the best TLDRs I have ever read in my time on the internet.
Obviously this OP needs some self defense lessons from a Mr. Hank Hill.

fuck with someones girl on the side???? op is just some weirdo creeper who was never with her, she decides to get a BF so that justifies him kicking said BF in the balls? pleaseee.. if you fight, you fight with honor, fuck this BS about "street fights being ub3r tough yo," why not just pull out a gun and shoot him with that logic. who knows, he may have a nuke in a suit case!!!

Well, back in my day (the late 90s), a swift kick to the nuts his how i solved my high school bully problem. My bully had a good 50lbs on me in high school (I came in at a massive 115 lbs in my sophomore year, and didn't gain any till i was way into my 20s). He came at me in the dressing room, making threatening movements (pulling back his leg to kick me but putting it down, or acting like he was going to punch me but stopping as his arm was coming forward). I dropped him with one kick when he was throwing a punch/fake punch (don't know which). but regarding op, "defending your friend" seems like a very thinly veiled reason for getting involved in a fight with this girls boyfriend.

I agree...
OP thinks he's in some kind of movie/drama
My thoughts: Clearly you missed your opportunity to make a move when you were spending nights at her house / close to her. She got tired of a guy who doesn't have confidence to make the first moves so she got tired of you...

Or she wants you back in her.... Laugh. Like your penis in her vagina and you are laughing because you are too good for that bitch now.
