Set your mind back for about 10 month and think of a SC2 player named Feast. No reaction? Yeah, same here. But due to Carmacs vision of providing the ground for new stars to grow, Feast was able to make a name for himself. And not only foreigners did profit from this. I doubt Violets name would have the same weight it has now, without IEM Sao Paulo.
Haters gonna hate
If there was something to criticise it was the lack of Promotion for some events. The biggest mistake in that regard happened during IEM New York when the finals were played and the stream was not shown in the TL sidebar, which lead to only 3.5k viewers on the stream. Some people even criticised the missing stars for certain events, but most of the stars weren`t just missing. They simply didn`t survive the online qualifiers.
Room for improvement
... is always there and I have seen lots of stuff improved already. The IEM World championships had very little downtime, an amazing mainstage, they changed the SC2 mappool for the better during the season and as far as I remember no significant technical difficulties for the finals. Yeah, the audience on the first days wasn`t that great, but hey the games started weekdays at 9 in the morning, so that explains a lot. NO fucking Frank from Intel to annoy everybody!!! (some people might remember him from the past ^_____^ )
