[H] How to create a short animated clip?

Garnet Vietnam9033 Posts February 10 2012 11:10 GMT #1 My friend (who is studying to become an elementary teacher) asked me to help her create some kind of short animation for her lesson. Imagine a cow and a dog walking, then texts pop up as they move towards each other. Nothing too fancy, just simple 2D stuff will do. Also it should be possible to save the clip to a disc so she can play it to the kids. So I'm asking if you know any free program or website that can do this. She was my best friend in high school!.

Dead9 United States4725 Posts February 10 2012 11:32 GMT #2 u could do this with powerpoint if it doesn't have to be too fancy otherwise any kind of video editor (imovie, windows movie maker, etc) flash would work too but it's a bit more complicated animated gif would work too but it's a bit more complicated edit: for free programs http://www.openoffice.org/ (powerpoint equivalent) i don't know much about video editing software but imovie and windows movie maker are usually bundled with the operating system http://www.gimp.org/ (image editing software, for animated gif) i would recommend just making a powerpoint, tho video editing isn't too hard either

G_G Canada178 Posts February 10 2012 12:20 GMT #3 Get the trial for Flash. It's pretty much perfect for what you described. Learn how to do basic motion tweens (youtube/google) and you're set.

iTzSnypah United States1738 Posts February 10 2012 15:04 GMT #4 Fireworks (its an adobe version of paint) would probably work best for your situation. you can add frames then copy the previous frame and paste it on the next. You can also set how many FPS u want, then you just save as a .GIF.

Flash would also be great for it, but I am less familiar with the program itself so I don't know how it compares in terms of how simple it would be to do it.
