Hey guys, I am going to be doing a 24-30 hour stream marathon tomorrow starting at January 27th, 4 p.m. EST! I will be playing a lot of ladder, custom games, and will do replay analysis from replays that people have emailed me at djcb11hood@hotmail.com.
I am going to make it a legit 24 hrs of game time, though I may go to 30 hrs or so depending on how i feel! By legit, I mean the majority of the time will be ladder and 1v1 games, no time taken up with runling run or other custom games that some people do.
SO BE PREPARED! Someone should keep track of how many nukes I launch over the course of the day if that is possible! Muahahaha!!! And also how many times I switch headgear lmao.
And the link will be www.twitch.tv/avilo PREPAREEEE YOOOO SELLLFFFF... Expect a lot of:

Good luck Avilo

Avilo i would suggest you keep track of your game information. I think you or someone else could make an interesting comparison of around what time your skill level really drops off or if playing for 12 hours straight suddenly on the 13 hour you start playing like a boss.
But most of all Good luck! and i hope you have eye drops xD
|
i predict a total of 5 games will be played in those 20+ hours dammit someone already said this anyways should be cool
|
any reason for this marathon? or just 'cause?

How is that early game? there's 5 bases for Green O_o I don't get the joke.

sigh
In the screenshot, you can see that Avilo (red) and Luckyfool (green) are playing in a 41 minute TvT.
41 minutes is pretty short for Avilo TvTs.
Picture Goody-style Terran but less mobile.

Oh, it's early-game in the context or overall length of games by Avilo.

Yep, I made it the entire 24 wooo
Thank you everyone that tuned in I made it the 24 hours wooo, I just slept from like bout 4:30 p.m. or so yesterday till 7:00 a.m. today LOL.
I appreciate everyone that watched and hope it was fun, everyone was nice/mannered in chat which was great too!
I highly doubt I will do this again soon (LOL) because it's so physically and mentally draining @_@ but i can say i've done it now muahaha! wooo
And ty and ♥ to my lovely arkansassy who happened to stay with me the entire 24 hrs even though I thought she should rest and not do the same 24 hrs i was doing as it can be very draining!
And if you were there the entire 24 hours please let me know, as I'm sure at least a few of you were!

And the interesting factoid learned from this is that mass gaming for many, many hours is very bad for learning new builds/strategies and is detrimental to getting better at Starcraft 2. That may have been somewhat obvious regardless of going through the 24 hours, but I can confirm it after doing this. I didn't feel like I was absorbing new information that much like 13 hours into the stream marathon.
What I will say though is the mass grinding of many games does in fact help your muscle memory for maintaining and improving your keyboard/mouse mechanics. Just like any sport, just grinding and putting in the time helps this out immensely, but you already have to have solid fundamental mechanics for this type of mass gaming grinding to be beneficial!
As for stats that I can remember, I played 80 games of the course of the 24 hours, and I have uploaded them in a replay pack here:
