This is the 4th week of my hardass training regimen. During this time I’ve grinded 20 games per day on average. My top score was 31 games in one day, of which 14 were very long macro games. That’s 7,5h of pure Starcraft gameplay in one day. Made my head spin in the end.

Point is, I’m practicing my butt off to the point of mental and physical exhaustion. The results show themselves faster than ever.
Yesterday I’ve gone into my best winning streak yet, beating master level players in 80% of my games. I even got into a semi-final of z33k.com daily.
I won my first muta vs muta ZvZ, which is the most difficult strategy I’ve ever pulled off. Just check it out: http://mediafire.com/?83ygv1axyobvsx8

But now I’m feeling lazy!

I want to stick to my training for years and become a progamer!

BUT I feel like playing Skyrim, watching day9 daily and browsing through the Internet mindlessly. If I want to stick to my regimen, then I gotta force myself to crank out more games.

I’m even blogging instead of practicing. I didn’t blog for the last 2 weeks just because of how focused was on laddering and analyzing my replays.

What should I do? Should I give into my laziness and play Skyrim? Or should I stick to 25 games per day regimen? He3e3e3elp!

Definitely stick with it!

You'll never look back on this day and say "Wow I really regret not playing Skyrim", but you will regret it if today becomes the day you started slacking (which is, really, the day you give up).

Be strong, and get those games in.

Taking a break from time to time can be good so you do not burn yourself out, before you know it you wont stand to even look at starcraft. It is ok to take a break, force yourself to not play it for a day or two and then it will be hard to keep you away from it again.

Here's something:

Do you enter dailies/weeklies?
If yes and you have a good reseult, then reward yourself after good results with a break of a few days.
If you are not content with your results, then i hope you find motivation to practice.

If you still do not find motivation, then you really should consider a break of a few days.

This would be my advice. Good luck!

DO NOT GIVE UP. I'm serious. It's really really REALLY easy to go from giving yourself a small break to telling yourself another break here and another break there won't hurt.
Before you know it you will be lazy as hell and everything will go to hell.

Give yourself a MINIMUM set of games to play every single day. And then rather take the rest of the day off when you've reached your daily quota.

Going pro is going to take SACRIFICE. It's not meant to be EASY.

To succeed in life you have to turn your mind away from all the instant gratifications that are luring you away from your true path

Good luck.

Funny how yours and Diaders advice are completely opposite, and yet both make perfect sense.

You're absolutely right, when I'm taking too much time off I become hungry for more Starcraft :-)

Thanks for help! :-)
