Seriously, Steam is epic!
Not just is it an epic system for buying games and just a general good system with lots of good offers also. I just bought Serious Sam The First Encounter, Serious Sam The Second Encounter, Serious Sam The First Encounter HD & Serious Sam The Second Encounter HD all for only 3,99 euro. Time for a long night of gaming with my buddy ! ^^

My friend gifted me the Serious Sam Series and we played quite a bit! Really fun :D

imho by far the best thing about steam is the updater that always keeps your games at the newest patch. i barely look for games anywhere else, just because i don't want to care about compatibility issues and bugs due to missing patches when steam can do it all for me.
also obviously digital distrubution > tons of litter from boxed copies and you can't even lose your cd. :D

Seriously so grateful for Valve and Steam, the idea and service is great <3

I like the convenience of steam too. Remember the huge uproar and shitstorm when it first came out?
|
i absolutely love Steam, i have almost 100 games on 2 accounts. when BF3 came out, i was upset that i couldn't have it on my Steam account and had to have it on Origin, basically a ripoff of Steam by EA.
i love the weekend and midweek madness sales, and dont forget Steam usually has their week-long sales event around Xmas time. you cant beat 50%-75% off major titles no matter where you shop.
as far as Valve, i am still upset with them (why no HL3?????????), but they are one of the better developers out there.

Agreed! Steam is amazing ^^ Enjoy the games

Me and my Friend just played, 3 hours for first campaign. (we did it in 1 go :D) Now we are waiting for The second game to install ;P

In all seriousness, steam is probably the biggest reason why PC gaming still exists. It's a robust enough DRM system that more and more developers are willing to trust it to keep their AAA products relatively secure, but it's also non intrusive and feature rich enough that most gamers have embraced it.

I bought KOTOR two weeks ago for 10 dollars. It was so amazing I don't even care that I wasted 7 dollars

Most annoying thing about iTunes:
Download song. Reformat hard drive a day later. Apples makes you buy the song again.
Best thing about Steam:
Download game. Move away from home, forgot about PC gaming for a while, remember how awesome Valve is seven years later, re-download Steam on a new computer, and still have access to all your old purchases.
Valve is a great company.

Don't like it, with the failure of Origin, it's creating a monopoly, and monopolies are never good.
One example of this is when they converted all dollar prices into euro prices. 50 dollars us? 50 Euros.
What did people do about it? Made a steam group :/
|
The things I like the least about it is that dollar goes straight into euro, meaning that a game for 50 USD turns into 50 euro. At this moment 1 euro is 1,33 dollar so it's basically 1/3 more expensive to buy games in Europe. If they actually bothered to exchange the dollar value into euro they'd actually be cheap, but right now there are way cheaper hard copies to buy in stores which is ridiculous as they have to pay for storage, shipping, rents in the city the actual dvd with package etc etc. The only reason to buy things off steam is lazyness and the fact that the minimiprizes are still lower as you can't get a game with a DVD and the package for like 3 euro.

I hate that I need to log into steam to play Skyrim. I dont like steam, I'm forced to use it. What kind of freedom is that?
