Hi all,

I havent posted on TL at all but I thought id make a post about this. Ive been following the SC2 pro scene for about 4-5 months now, watching streams and paying real close attention to tactics and styles of play. Im in gold at the moment but im only playing plat players so I presume that ill be promoted next season after the lock.

So anyway I was thinking if I got a load of practice in and a load of comments on my play I could get better a lot quicker. I have a pretty distinct style of play for ZvP/T but my ZvZ sucks. My play could be improved a lot but mainly its mechanics and micro I think are my main weaknesses since I can macro extremely hard and im a pretty good at scouting and holding my advantages while denying 3 bases so mid/late game im happy. I think I get tilted pretty easy too by weird cheese like proxy walling off the bottom of my ramp with bunkers and other cheesy stuff too and even if I hold it off I dont play properly for the rest of the game.

My play style for P/T is really just a lot of lings Into muta since I like to play a macro style I can get 3 base up and be able to hold it with a crap ton of lings for protection. If its terran and they go mech I add in roach instead of muta and use them to tank some of the damage. I dont have any problems against Protoss at the moment except weird stuff like fake forge fast expand Into 4 gate or some other weird tactics but you dont see that much at my level.

So id like to announce that this Friday at 1PM Irish time GMT+1 im going to do a 24 hour live stream where im going to solidly play all night long bar a few coffee breaks and food breaks where id love to get people talking about my play and giving feedback on every little thing. I have 2 monitors and will be looking at the chat all the time to see what people think. I really want to get better and I think this would really help. Id love if people wanted to watch

EDIT: Whoops forgot to link where ill be streaming it http://twitch.tv/sirshane

1st don't expect a lot of people to watch it as your stream is not featured and you're gold
2nd Do you really think playing 24h is going to help you get better?
3rd Good luck

You will get much better playing 2 days with proper sleep and if your goal is to get lots of viewers with this it's not going to work because you're gold.

Well I would like to think that people would like to comment and talk about play. I wouldn't say people would look at it for the amazing play but more for the fun of seeing how the feedback helps and working out the kinks together.

I think the practice would help and the 24 hours is just so I can be disciplined with myself and actually get that amount of games in. Its not really that the 24 hours will help me get better its that the amount of games will improve my game overall. I dont think ive ever played more than 4 hours in a row so actually putting in the time would be a help.

Thanks for the luck

Well lots of viewers isnt my goal but if its a 24 hour stream I presume people would be more likely to watch it on and off and pop by. Again its more about getting people to comment on my play. Oh and I have gotten 10 viewers on my stream a few times even with gold play since people like how I try to figure stuff out and work out kinks in my game.

Marathoning is not actually how you get better. Proper exercise, healthy eating habits, enough sleep, and staying hydrated is how you'll see a massive improvement. What your proposing is the opposite.

In addition to what I said above, make sure your not just playing ladder games. Playing against the ai practicing specific things is what will make you better, not pounding out ladder games. Try playing a 20 minute long game where your minerals/gas does not exceed 700(unless your saving for mutalisks or something of that sort, none of your queens exceeding 33 energy, and constantly moving zerglings around. If you can do this your going to be in great shape.

I actually do that a good bit but I always do it pretty easy in practice and then in games when it comes to doing what I practiced injecting larva, spreading creep, keep making units while microing..etc I tend to fall off a lot. Like I practice for an hour and a half sometimes before I even play game on ladder. So I think pounding out ladder games would help a good bit to stop that fall off when I get tilted by having to work out how to counter what they are doing and the basic mechanics. I know it sounds a bit bad but I just think my main problem is not enough playing more than not enough hours in playing against AI.

Would be fun to be with you as much as I can during that practice.

I will PM you my skype. If you want me to skype with you I would be glad to help you out as much as I can.

BTW, you should edit the OP to specify the timezone. Is it CEST?
