What a predicament.

Basically there is a talent show on Wednesday; not only I have to attend it, I have to also show off my talent. God I am panicking because I do not know what to do - because I can't think talents I have beside playing video games =\.

Can TL give me some suggestions? I am willing to train myself! BTW the audience is 22-26 years old graduate students; some Caucasians, some Asians.

EDIT: a lot of people wants to know more about me. I am just your typical nerd who has reasonably good grade, studies a lot, plays a lot of video games (I play minecraft now), and goes for graduate school. I don't go outside

That's really hard to give advice about without knowing you personally :p. I would say the easiest ones to do are musical instrument/dance/rapping . It's really hard to learn a good talent between now and wednesday though.

do standup comedy where you just take jokes from a different assortment of popular comedians

This sounds reasonable. Or I can try juggling....

It doesn't have to be a very good talent. Just enough so it's not totally embarassing is fine by me.

Yeah its tough to give advice without knowing you much.

Why not intentional try to *fail* at something for laughs?

Like go up there and intentionally fail at "talent show-y" things like balancing acts, magic, music, lip synching, costumes, etc. It's even better if you act super overly nervous. Basically make fun of the talent show itself!

Will you be doing it solo or will you have someone else to perform with? My best talent show performance was me and a friend acting out a really corny karate duel, mouthing as if we were speaking Japanese. Then we had another person off to each side provide really bad dubbing and sound effects for the audience.

As stated above, it would really help if we knew more about you. Even if it's a minor thing, let us know if there's something you're good at.

That fail idea looks good, but I'm wondering, how did you get stuck participating in a talent show without having something to do?

Ladies and Gentlemen, for your amusement tonight I am going spin this hoola-hoop. . . while at the same time Juggling not three, not four. . . but five porcelain plates. *Rave applause*. Thank you, thank you. This is an ancient trick that has been passed down for generations. My father learned it from his father, and his father learned it from his father. Legend has it it was originally taught to our family by an Native American. *ooooooh* I haven't done it in a while - but I'm hoping that past performers of this trick are with me in spirit and will guide my hands. Now, it's very important you don't move so you don't get hurt. And please, PLEASE, no wagering. For this to work - I need everyone to start clapping when I ask you to.

Let's start with the hool-hoop. *starts spinning* There we go. Now start clapping! *slow-clap builds momentum* And now for the plates. *Throws plates one by one in the air, catches the first one - the remaining four crash down around him as he ducks for cover, knocks over a table and falls*. *Audience starts laughing at the fail* *With chest held high he bows to the audience with the saved plate in hand*

The only problem with card tricks is that the audience won't be able to see jack squat if you're on a stage or something. How big of a talent show is it? It seems like a pretty small, casual type of thing the way you described, which you may be able to pull off with card tricks. Dunno how many card tricks you can learn and reasonably execute in 3 days, though.

that's the problem, he probably has no idea what he is good at so he wants suggestions for what everyone is good at.

Have a friend sit in the audience with a computer and buy a hidden ear piece. Have the audience call out numbers and then have your friend transmit you the prime factorizations. You can be rainman!

Alternatively you can learn to memorize really long strings of numbers or a series of random objects. It's 100 times easier than it seems.

Pretend to play BW, but actually have an FPVOD of Bisu playing a PvZ. Watch as the entire audience gets dizzy and starts having seizures from the insane multitasking.

Jokes aside, if you have a decent sense of humor and possibly good acting, you could try making some kind of comedic act, such as a stand-up comedy act or a funny play.

If you're feeling particularly industrious and audacious, perhaps you can try recreating:

I never learned Hamlet in highschool. My teacher hated it and opted for King Lear. But I *COULD* try to memorize it.... it's not very difficult.
