Which keyboard should i choose?

The time has to come where i need to change my old and awful razer lycosa keyboard to the popular mechanical keyboards. I have searched and read alot regarding the different switches, blue,brown,black and red. And it seems like the black and the blue are the ones that fits me the most.

Even though i know what switches fits me I have a serious problem regarding which keyboard i should choose to buy. It stands between the Steelseries 6GV2 and Filco Majestouch-2.

Filco Majestouch-2 is the one i want the most because i like the blue ones a tiny bit more then the black ones but what prevents me from buying it is the damn pricetag 151£ (209$)
While the 6GV2 only costs 79£ (109$)

What i want is some feedback from users of 6GV2 and Filco Majestouch-2 and pinpoint if it's actually worth to spend double the price for the blue switches or if i should go for the much more cheaper route.

And before someone writes this as i suggestion, i know razer have the blackwidow with blue switches but i hate the macro keys and the glossy surface so thats a no go for me.

Just curious, do you actually like how the enter key is shaped on either of those? I ask because that was one of the main reasons I went with a DAS (plus the DAS has blue's along with only being 20 more than the 6GV2.)

Im from sweden and our layout is different from the US layout. That is europes version of the enter key so im used to it. About the DAS keyboard they only sell in US and German version and i need the swedish one with åäö. German version has some similarity in keystrokes when it comes to swedish layout but it's till not 100% alike and it still goes for around 129£ so i would rather spend more on a full supported swedish layout which both filco and steelseries have to offer

I got the filco majestouch with blues its really nice. don't regret it at all! Its worth it to me, using my old Logitech keyboard after using this for a few months ... its not anywhere near as nice.

It took my brain about 2 weeks to fully adjust to this keyboard .. couldn't macro for shit, At first I thought i should have got blacks or something but I'm glad I stuck it out with this one.

Well it depends on what you are doing on the computer. I wouldn't recommend a mechanical keyboard to anyone that uses their computer for casual gaming and chatting etc. If you use the computer for higher level gaming or you are a coder or have a hobby/work where you type a lot i would say that you should look at mechanical keyboards. I got a Filco Tenkeyless with brown switches, i love it. I got no clue about the Steelseries board or how blue/black switches feels, though i find it quite funny that you say you want either blue or black, they are quite the opposite ^^

the problem with 6gv2 is the keycaps themselves. over time they tear and gets looser and looser.

proof? watch the idra video where he slams his headset on the keyboard. that's not the one time it happens, 2 friends of mine have had this problem after 2ish years where shit gets loose.

filco has more quality, is it worth the extra money? that's your decision.

To find the best fit for you you really just need to try them. I know finding a store nearby that carries them can be difficult, but if you can find a store with free returns that can solve your problem.

If you use the computer a lot, a keyboard is like driving a car. No one can describe to you the feeling of it with such accuracy that you'll immediately know which is the one for you - you just need to try them.

What I suggest is reading up on the various switches and picking up a keyboard with the switch you think you'll like the most. If you find that switch isn't for you, then you know which direction you need to go in with regards to spring feedback. I wouldn't necessarily worry about the board itself at the moment (for instance if you try out the blues in the blackwidow and like blues but don't like the board, return it for a majestouch with blues - that way at least you'll know you like the switch).

I personally like browns since I tried blues first and they were too difficult to press for gaming (for my tastes) but you may be entirely different.
