I think the best way to do it is to do a shot every hour, in the hopes of keeping the alcohol intake relatively close to the same rate that your body metabolizes the alcohol that's already in your system. I'd avoid drinking during the marathon though; I'd rather compensate by taking some more before and saving like 4 drinks for the last 5 minutes of the challenge...

I'm guessing doing the running early is better since you're wide awake, not as drunk and doing the SC games first would probably cause your legs to cramp or seize up later on...

I'd probably try to do something like:

- Breakfast! 4 or so donuts, maybe 4 shots
- As many sets of chin-ups as I could handle
- 2-3 games of SC2 to digest a bit
- Half marathon?
- Couple drinks
- About an hour of SC2 as a cooldown, with a set of chin-ups in between each game
- Lunch! 5-6 Donuts, Couple drinks
- Couple of sets of chin-ups
- 2-3 games of SC2 to digest a bit
- Bang out the rest of the marathon
- Fill up on donuts so that you're satisfied but not overly stuffed
- 1 drink & donut per hour roughly for the rest of the time
- Lots of SC2, with chin-ups in between each game or two.
- After 25 or so hours total, adjust pacing on donuts/drinks so that you can bang out the last 4 of each in the last 20 minutes or so and keep on playing SC2.

No clue if that's best, but it seems like the most logical... Getting some food in early is important in order to kickstart your metabolism for the day though. I'm always way hungrier throughout the day when I've had breakfast than when I skipped it.

Yes I definitely agree. Some of the players should start vlogging, I would so watch! It also gives us a sense of their personality which adds a bit of flavor to the game.

Thanks Tyler for doing this! You've always been my favorite player to watch and listen to about the game. I suffer from depression and although its unfortunate that you do as well, it is somewhat inspirational to me to know that you struggle with the same thing but still manage to be such an amazing person. I can't wait for the event and for more vlogs, thanks again!

It was cool meeting you at MLG Raleigh, even though by "meeting" I mean when I just got really awkward and was like "Hh-hey... thanks a lot guys...." (I was the tall guy at the very end of the line). It's awesome that you're doing these vlogs, and I agree with your thoughts on how if more players did this it would add to the experience of SC2. I'm looking forward to more of these if you decide to do them. Thanks for taking your time to put this one out!

gotta think the best way to do this is knock the running out of the way fairly early, using starcraft inbetween runs and mix in pullups to the extent that you dont wear out your upper body. donuts obviously will be breakfast, lunch, and dinner. after the run have a donut feast and start laddering. go through a phase of hardcore laddering with the remainder of the pullups mixed in after the donut feast wears off. start drinking after the pullups are done or close to done and begin drinking more aggressively as the starcraft gets close to completion. binge drink if necessary after the games are won to finish off the alcohol component.

Kudos Tyler.. It takes a lot of courage to speak so openly about such a personal problem.

You shouldn't feel any pressure, I for one don't expect a damn thing from you other than you to do your best, and I'm sure many others feel the same. Just enjoy the game and enjoy life.

I've always always felt that Tyler should have a show or a Vlog. Every SotG for me is my chance to have Tyler drop wisdom on me, and its always much appreciated.

Appreciated the depression talk too. I had the panic attacks a few years back and have still yet to really shake it off completely. Prior to getting them i had no appreciation whatsoever for mentall illnesses, but i do now. I doubt it's a tenth as bad as MDD. I really feel for you dude.

Anyway thank you Tyler, and i look forward to future installments.

ps: I hope your lovely wife is on standby during your marathon, just in case you try and eat too many donuts too fast or something >_>
Or if you can get more people to join you, that'd be awesome. You could compete / push eachother to finish the uhh... race.

I'm still trying to get my head around the planning of it. That's a lot of food and drink to consume as well as needing to be mentally strong to win 26.2 games, as well as run that distance.

I'm thinking split the marathon in half or thirds. Do one chunk of running, eat, play, drink, play, drink, Run. Eat, play, drink eat etc. Pull ups go wherever, i don't feel they'd get in the way, or be victim to the other excesses.

Run the marathon first and then drink. Dont drink before, you won't make it haha. Winning 26.2 games will be difficult considering you're drinking as well.

Haha. You have a good point. Maybe even space the drinks out over the course of the day so they have a minimal effect, or... do them all at the very end, after the games are done. Man that's a lot to do in such a short time. Good luck, sir!

Also, I also love this vlogging idea. I'm frankly surprised no one is really doing it, yet. I would absolutely watch vlogs of my favourites players or maybe even of new players that would soon become my new favourites.
