so i'm at a summer program thing and there were 11 guest lecturers and there is a 3-hour test on these lectures for which i was supposed to study and i didn't and the test is tomorrow and while everyone else formed study groups i was trying to do lab work and failing majorly because the only room with reliable Internet is always crowded with people talking about stuff/playing and i wanted to get my lab work done before studying
so now i realize that i am letting down my lab because my work has been pretty shabby thus far and i also am in massive danger of failing the exam and i can't study tomorrow because i have to work fulltime (9-5 with a lunch break, basically) and there is no way i can ask not to work because i already have done very little and also there is a lot of important stuff that i absolutely have to learn/do tomorrow
nothing to explain, dug myself into the hole by wasting time and not finding a better place to work
also if i fail the test then it's like i never went the the program or something so i have to do well, and also everyone will look down on me
considering pulling an all-nighter

All of this is your own fault. I've made similar mistakes in the past, but the important thing is that I smartened up about two weeks before it was too late and I changed my habits for the future.
You're pretty screwed for both the lab and the exam though. You're going to have to pick which one is the higher priority, drop the other thing and pray for the best, and hammer the higher priority item as much as you can.
I always recommend getting 7+ hours of sleep no matter what in an academic situation though.
P.S. For the future your local/campus library is your friend. Whenever I enter my 'crunchtime' phase of school I go to the library every day with a packed lunch and sometimes with a packed dinner. I'll spend somewhere around 10 hours a day there during this time. Study breaks are for pussies .
P.P.S. Never lose sight of what other people may think of you. I know it sounds insecure, but when you're trying to succeed I find the best motivation is to think of how proud people will be or how disappointed they will be if you fail. That kind of pressure can go a long way if you can survive it. Giving up is for pussies .

People say stuff about how an all-nighter is basically equivalent of being drunk (something in the order of ~20 hours being awake without sleep = 0.05%? I forgot the exact numbers) BUT BUT BUT knowing that you pulled an all-nighter makes you more motivated (spent all that effort) and more secure about the exam. Well, at least for me. Good luck~

Having done this a few times in the past, I can tell you that getting a small amount of rest is always a good idea. It's better to sleep for a couple of hours and be somewhat well-rested than to study for a little longer and be completely sleep-deprived-drunk the day of your test. glgl.
Incidentally, the last time I pulled an all-nighter, I somehow decided after the test that it would be a good idea to reply to an email my professor sent to the class. When I messed up with gmail's mail goggles (which I don't do even when drunk), I should've known something was up, but I sent the email anyway, not realizing that I had hit Reply All instead of Reply, so the entire class saw it. I don't send emails in that sort of state anymore...

Wow, just came back from this and...everything went better than expected!
The test wasn't even that hard, I have no idea what I was stressing about.
On the other hand, I don't know when I'll be hit with a really doozy of a test for which I don't study, so I really need to learn my lesson this time. To sort of elaborate, I'm a perfectionist and also cannot multitask or prioritize, so having even two tasks makes it really difficult for me to focus until it's really crunch time. The test turned out to be ridiculously easy and I beasted it with laughably little studying.
...but I did learn my lesson. Never again. Because I can't multitask, I need to prioritize, and get things done rapidly (because as long as focus is applied, it's quick and easy) one at a time.
Now I can focus on my lab! Yes :D I want to finally be able to dedicate my focus to my lab because my mentor is amazing, the professor who oversees the lab is awesome, and the lab in general is superb!
Also, I didn't pull an all-nighter in the end; not even close hehe
This is the last time I have this kind of procrastination. I've learned my lesson before it's [potentially] too late. :3
