If your grades and other areas of life don't suffer for it then try to reason with them perhaps. Playing a few hours a week shouldn't impact your ability to get into a good university (which I assume, is what they care about.) Ideally, you'd be able to get your parents to be ok with you playing. If not, then do it anyway? I mean can you just close the door to your room or is the computer in a place where they walk by. | ||

 to set it up so that you still do the work and get the grades but its all recorded later, so you take no hit in the long run and you get games | ||

im not sure what you can do to unstigmatize starcraft to them, especially considering they didnt have computer games when they were growing up | ||

I'd say the best way is to prove to them that you do: ask them for a two week trial period in which you have access to games, and tell them they can revoke access if your grades slip. Two weeks won't hurt a semester or year grade. It's really best for you and your parents to find a sort of compromise like this, IMO; if you build their trust in this area, they'll probably trust you more overall. | ||
