GrindTime is all in good fun, these are people who come out trying to test themselves in the sort of rap environment. They spend hours writing material, though offensive, to later present to their target audience. I don't see anything wrong with that. | ||

This is like saying sparring in martial arts is abusive because you kick/punch/wrestle with your opponent without taking into context that this is a competitive environment where it the two are "fighting" while keeping respect and understanding that it isn't a fight. Enter: "I don't like this so it isn't enjoyable; how meaningless!" | ||

What an odd simile Sparing in martial arts is to improve one's self defense and is necessary as it's really the only way to get real live experience, which you do need, before getting yourself into a fight. The only skill that is uniquely gained in grindtime is your ability to think of witty comments to say to people when you want to abuse them, but whats the point? In my experience, people grow out of this behavior at 15, so i find it really strange that people in their 20 somethings would look at people of a similar age and say "hey man that was really cool, i especially liked that comment about you raping both his mother and his girlfriend at the same time". Tunk clearly has alot of talent as a writer, but to me he is just wasting his gift on schoolyard bullshit. So i say again, why not make some soulful hip hop that everyone can enjoy? | ||
